Done it dozens of times, but this time around it has me stumped. And seems to have Google stumped as well! We have a new installation of SBS2008 Premium (64 bit). The SQL Server is https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26984705/Backup-Exec-2010-Severe-Application-Error-after-installing.html resident on a different server (2008 64 bit). But there is also SQL running on the primary SBS2008 (for SBSMONITORING, Kaspersky AV, and a 3rd instance called SQLEXPRESS for (Provides storage, processing and controlled access of data, and rapid transaction processing.) Anyway, the Backup Exec Pre-installation Environment check is OK. The software seems to go on OK. After restarting the server, I try to launch Backup Exec and it gives me a Backup Exec Application Error... The text of the error message... A severe application error has occurred. Exception: System.MissingMethodException Method not found: 'System.Object System.Windows.Threading.Dispatcher.Invoke(System.Delegate, System.Object[])'. Stack Trace: at BackupExec.UI.Shared.BECollectionSource`2.a(IList A_0) at BackupExec.UI.Shared.BECollectionSource`2.a(Object A_0, EventArgs A_1) at BackupExec.UI.Shared.BEThreadPool.a() at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state) at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart() There is aclose button, which after you click it, the error disappears, but the software does not run. It sits there indefintely saying "Connecting to media server". All services set to Auto, do in fact start. I tried deinstalling and then just installing SQL Express with a special instance I called BACKUPEX2010, and then pointing the Backup Exec installtion

Even "Hello World" gives me error has the same error: "The connection to adb is down, and a severe error has occurred". I'm running Eclipse Galileo, Google APIs 2.2 8, on a Windows XP machine. I've used all the tricks I can find on the web: the command line "adb kill-server", the DDMS "reset ADB", I started the emulator both before and after Eclipse, and searched for ports being used by other programs. What is going on here? Is there a magic combo of versions of error has occurred Eclipse, Java, adb, emulator, and whatever else that works? android android-emulator adb share|improve this question edited May 4 at 1:32 community wiki 7 revs, 5 users 36%Ted Betz 2 Is your emulator showing up in the devices command? - # adb devices –Adam Harte Nov 1 '10 at 20:25 If all you are doing is android development you may just want to download Motodev for Android. Then all this is preconfigured for you. –Jim Nov 1 '10 at 20:49 I'm not familiar with the devices command. I do see Google APIs as a AVD in the "Android SDK & AVD Manager" window, and I can start it from there as well. –Ted Betz Nov 1 '10 at 21:04 I ran the adb devices command and received "error: write failure during connection". –Ted Betz Nov 1 '10 at 21:50 Thanks Jim for trhe heads-up on the Motodev site. They make it a lot easiler to install all of the packages. However, the same problem exists. I guess its the same Eclipse with the same unstable adb. Any help is much appreciated. Im on day 3 of this problem. –Ted Betz Nov 2 '10 at 19:58 | show 1 more comment 39 Answers 39 active oldest votes 1 2 next up vote 507 down vote accepted Try below steps: Close the Eclipse if running Go to the Android SDK platform-tools
