However, I drupal error message display still can't seem to change what I'm looking for. I'm importing the user.pot file with my changed string for "Sorry, unrecognized username or password. Have you forgotten your password?" and I get no errors when I import. I'm importing a custom english language, and I think the plural form is messed up. I have it set as: "Plural-Forms: nplurals=1; plural=0;\n" Any other suggestions? Thanks for your help zirvap and to any other help. Do you follow the recipie on HOWTO: Creating a customized language set to replace Drupal terminology, or on the page linked from there, which is called HOWTO: Use a customized language set to change Drupal text and terminology? The second link is much more complicated, and is for an older version of Drupal (the only indication of this is a tiny "Drupal 4.7.x" tag, so it's easy to miss, unfortunately). * goes to try the

I want to display the error in warning field instead of using form_set_error(). I am able http://drupal.stackexchange.com/questions/41113/drupal-login-error-message-display-on-page-by-make-new-module to see the warning field in the login block. When I submit with error it did not display the error. Code is as under. I am missing how to refresh the value of form once it gets error. function usermoved_form_user_login_block_alter(&$form, &$form_state) { $form['warning'] = array( '#value' => t('oops'), '#weight' => 11 ); $form['#submit'][] = 'usermoved_form_submit_code'; } function usermoved_form_submit_code($form, &$form_state) { global $user; if (!$user->uid) { $form['warning']['value']= "changed to something"; } } I have disabled the error in user.module as follows. function user_login_final_validate($form, &$form_state) { global $user; if (!$user->uid) { //form_set_error('name', t('Sorry, unrecognized username or password. Have you forgotten your password?', array('@password' => //url('user/password')))); } } 7 users share|improve this question edited Aug 29 '12 at 10:49 optimusprime619 1,6261025 asked Aug 29 '12 at 10:01 Altaf 63 2 it is not recommended to modify a core module directly as it can cause potential security risk or loss of functionality while upgrading, you could choose to remove user_login_final_validate from the #validate array of the form, please refer to modules such as logintoboggan to get better idea of how to implement custom validation without hacking the core module –optimusprime619

The error message is "Please Select the Valid File Format". My problem is in brief below. I have created a CCK called 'Assignment'. There I have given the users an option to upload files. In such case if the user uploads invalid file format drupal will throw the error message as mentioned above. I need to change the error message in to "The file upload field cannot upload the speicified filed". How can I achieve this? (Should not login error message use string overrides module) Thanks in advance.. 6 cck share|improve this question edited Oct 30 '15 at 10:19 kenorb 5,65613071 asked Sep 29 '11 at 11:24 Fero 92811733 For Drupal 7, check: How do you alter a form error? or Change form validation error messages in Drupal 7 –kenorb Oct 30 '15 at 10:20 add a comment| 5 Answers 5 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted If that string is run through the t() function (which is probably is) and you don't want to use String Overrides, then you can update your settings file. For Drupal 6, putting this in your "settings.php" file should work. $conf["locale_custom_strings_en"] = array( "Please Select the Valid File Format" => "The file upload field cannot upload the speicified filed", ); In Drupal 7, you would change it to $conf["locale_custom_strings_en"][""] = array( "Please Select the Valid File Format" => "The file upload field cannot upload the speicified filed", ); However, I am not seeing the string "Please Select the Valid File Format" in any of my D6 installs, and that is not the message I get when try to upload to a CCK filefield with the wrong file type or the MIME type doesn't match the file extension. share|improve this answer answered Sep 29 '11 at 13:20 mpdonadio♦ 28.2k451109 add a comment| up vote 3 down vote Get the messages using drupal_get_messages().
