EPSON Stylus Pro GS6000 Epson Stylus Photo RX640 Service Error   5 Replies Jalapeno OP 1st IT Support Ltd Jan 31, 2012 at 12:34 UTC Error E-90 means that something is stopping the ink carriage from moving its full extent. Open the scanner and check that the ink carriage lid is firmly locked down, check along the path of the carriage epson error message cannot recognize ink cartridges for any foreign/loose objects. Use an alcohol wipe or similar & gently wipe the plastic registration strip that goes through the top rear of the ink carriage. Be careful not to dislodge or damage it. If the carriage moves when you switch it on, pull out the power cable when it is across to the left and check for loose gears or foreign objects in the gears on R/H side You might be able to reset the error using this: http://daryhelpyou.wordpress.com/printer/service-printer

Share this conversation Expert: Robert Preston replied4 years ago. Hello,Welcome to JustAnswer. My name isXXXXX and I will be assisting you with your problem today. The E90 problem is a ink carrier error, it is usually after changing the ink, first make sure the ink lid is closed properly and clicks in to its lock if not press all the ink http://www.justanswer.com/printers/6wjzu-epson-cx7800-printer-displaying-e-90-call-service-anything.html down it may nor be seated properly, if that doesnt work lubricate the silver slide at the back of the ink holder (the one it slides back and forth on) with a little silicon grease or BP jelly (petrolum jelly) not much just a little it may be the slide bearing has become tight this will give the same error, also check for small pieces of paper the error is the carriage is not locating properly because it is too tight, or sticking or and obstruction. Clean it and everything should be OKThanks and please rate my answer once you are satisfied. If you have any further questions, please ask and I will continue working with you. Thanks,Robert Preston Ask Your Own Printers Question Customer: replied4 years ago. Tried the petroleum jelly...still getting error...I checked for obstructions...used some canned air to blow out anything that might be in the printer...any other suggestions? Expert: Robert Preston replied4 years ago. That pretty much covers the possibilities for the error. You can try removing the cartridges and cleaning the print head area thoroughly and sliding the carriage back and forth a few times. If it's not one of those then it's a mechanical defect and would require service. Robert Preston and

goes!!My dad gave me an EpsonStylus Photo RX520 printer/scanner which was my nephews, in the hope I could try and fix the E90 error message with 3 cogs. This happens right at the end of the cycle, just before the ink cartridges park.I got it working once, but I think that was just luck!!There are no obstructions I can see and I've cleaned as much ink off without going any deeper. So, from a 54-year-old novice to any experts out there:How can I take the top cover off the printer? Is there any diagrams I can view (especially the part where the ink parks at the right hand side)? There is one long white plastic part that I need to put back.I tried the SCC Service Utility, but that didn't work.If I have to trash the printer, so be it, but I like to try and fix something first if I can!! A canny Scotsman!!Thanks to anyone who can help.DREW Respond to this Please sign in to comment Epson Stylus Photo Stylus Photo Buy discount ink Buy this printer More Epson questions © Copyright 2011-2016, FixYourOwnPrinter.com, Inc.
