FAT32 formatted drive you will immediately be presented with the ‘error code 0' message. The simplest solution is to use drives formatted with Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or HFS+ file systems, however a Windows PC will not be http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/error-code-0.399322/ able to access either of these file systems without additional software. There is no reliable way to force FAT32 to accept file sizes larger than 4GB, and FAT16 is an even older file system with worse limitations of 2GB file sizes. Do note that if you want a drive to be properly accessible by both Mac OS X and Windows, you can format the drive as NTFS, and use an NTFS mounter for Mac OS X to http://osxdaily.com/2010/05/07/copy-error-code-0/ try and write to the drive, however NTFS is not officially supported by Apple and you may run into some problems when writing data to the destination device. You're much better off using a FAT file system if you want true Mac and Windows compatibility with a drive, and as long as you avoid enormous files or copy them directly between a Mac and PC - and not the intermediary disk drive - you won't see those Error Code 0 messages in the Finder when trying to copy anything. A maximum of 3 people use Quickbooks. All have all rights to the QB files and directory.Quickbooks will work for weeks at a time, then one day we come in and can't open QB because of a (-6129,0) error. So, error message per the QB support info, I go to the server, run File Doctor, which invariably throws an address exception error and fails to fix anything. So I delete the .ND file, point the QB DB server at the QB file directory on the SBS Server, and most of the time, things start working again, though I occasionally get (-6000) errors of some kind which 923-0 error message I also need to resolve. Eventually, I get things working again. It's a real pain.Lately, we have been going through this on a daily basis, and frankly, I'm very tired of it. When I was in IT years ago, we ran multiuser systems on PC networks for years without connectivity problems, yet QB has always been finicky to set up, and unreliable for us.Is it just me, or is this something that anyone else has managed to get working reliably? Thanks for any suggestions. 2 comments × Close Why do you want to report this? Later, however, after everyone was out of QB, one user encountered a (-6129) error when attempting to open QuickBooks, so I tried to open it on my machine and got a (-6177,0) error. I went to the server, deleted the .ND file, rescanned the files with the QB Database Server Manager, and things worked again.Note: The server is Windows 2008 Small Business Server, all of the workstations are late-model Windows 7 machines.
