Now my odometer says 'Error' all the time. Otherwise, my 2008 Liberty runs fine.Has anyone run into this issue on a Jeep? Does anyone know why this happened? And better yet, how do you fix this?Thank you. Top #3472174 - 09/02/14 07:31 PM Re: Odometer says "Error" - 2008 Jeep Liberty [Re: Ranger1] KCJeep Registered: 06/30/11 Posts: 6431 Loc: Mahzurrah! You can try the turn-key-codes procedure to see if it will reset. If you are not familiar with it, turn the key on then back off three times within 5 seconds, just far enough to turn everything on without actually engaging the starter. The last time you turn it off it

I just had to replace a water pump, tensioner and drive belt. This light came http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/3472152/Odometer_says_%22Error%22 on after that work was done. Thanks Submitted: 5 years ago. Category:Jeep Share this conversation Expert: Chris replied5 years ago. Hello and welcome to just answer. That error message may mean that there is an internal problem with the instrument cluster. Try this : with the ignition off press and hold the odometer reset button and while holding the button turn the ignition to the run position. Continue to hold the button for about http://www.justanswer.com/jeep/5een2-jeep-liberty-reset-error-message-displayed.html 2 seconds then release it. This will put the cluster into a self test mode. Let me know what happens and if there is a code displayed at the end of the test. Chris Ask Your Own Jeep Question Customer: replied5 years ago. I tried this twice and the cluster went into the self test mode. At the end of the tyest, the "Error" was still showing in the odometer window Expert: Chris replied5 years ago. Ok, let me check something, and I will be back.Chris Ask Your Own Jeep Question Expert: Chris replied5 years ago. It looks like your cluster has failed internally. This is not caused by the other work that was done, but is a coincidence. Try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 2 minutes and then reconnect it. If the problem still occurs, then have the cluster replaced.I hope this helps, and let me know if you need further assistance with this.Chris Chris and 5 other Jeep Specialists are ready to help you Ask your own question now Share this conversation Related Jeep Questions Question Date Submitted I have a liberty KK with only 25k miles and all the routine 10/13/2016 10/13/2016 dodgetech77 Can someone help me find the power wire that controls the 10/13/2016 10/13/2016 jeep10000 Just bought a 1989 YJ

This has happened on the highway, in standstill traffic and stopped at a red light. It has happened about 4 times in the last 2 months. It is not only embarrassing but it makes us nervous that the issue could get worse and lead to an accident in the future. We took it to pep boys and were told they can't diagnose it. I then contacted crysler and they just told me to take it to a dealership. I did and the dealership didn't know how to fix it but sent us a quote for $3500 worth of other stuff we don't need fixed! my husband just picked up the car and it honked/window wipered 3 times in a 15 minute ride home. We are expecting our first baby any day now and are very nervous about the safety of the car. No one is willing to help at this point.Discuss This Complaint at ForumDetailsComplaint Number:10910801Incident Date:September 5, 2016Date Added to File:September 30, 2016Description of the Complaint:This has happened multiple times, most recently on sept. 5, 2016. My jeep's lights won't work correctly, my horn constantly blares, I've spent almost a hundred dollars on windshield washer fluid because those constantly spray, and it's beginning to ruin parts inside of my vehicle! today the fuze box was so hot it could have been on fire! why is this not recalled?! so many people are having this issue, and the dealership refuses to replace the part in fear of having the record of it being replaced! we have spoke to cooperate as well and nothing is being done. All it takes is the tipm freaking out causing a fire, or headlights to fail and causing an accident or death. This needs to be
