during Windows 10 installation?I'm trying to upgrade from Windows 8.1 I factory reset my computer to 8.0 and couldn't update to 8.1 through the free store update, so I used https://www.quora.com/How-can-I-fix-error-80004005-during-Windows-10-installation an ISO and upgraded that way. Not sure how much relevance there is with http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Windows-10-Upgrade-Failed-with-error-code-80004005/td-p/5177597 that, but now, whenever I try upgrading to Windows 10, it just fails - gets to the installation screen, and about 86%, just restarts and goes back to Windows 8.1UpdateCancelAnswer Wiki5 Answers Kelvin McDaniel, Been running Windows 10 since the early TP days... and loving it -- ALL of it.Updated 53w agoThat is error message really odd. If this is still an issue try using the Media Creation Tool instead. DON'T create a new ISO; just let it do the upgrade itself.http://windows.microsoft.com/en-...A couple of suggestions... 1. Back up your data before you begin and DON'T select the "keep all my stuff" option. Even though this iteration of Windows has a better upgrade experience I keep hearing of people who have problems error message 80004005 with going this route. Hopefully you still have access to the installers for any programs you want on the new OS.2. Make sure the volume you're trying to install Windows 10 to has at least 12 GB available AFTER everything is downloaded and expanded... So really you'll want about 20GB. This isn't hard and fast, but the installation will go much smother this way.I hope this helps!11.2k Views · View UpvotesRelated QuestionsMore Answers BelowHow can I fix the error 8007010B encountered during upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10?How do I fix error "not responding" for windows 10?How do I fix srt log file error Windows 10?How can I fix windows 10 error? How can I fix 'Emerging Error 67758' in Windows 10? Walter TocaliniWritten 5w ago90% of the time is driver issue, remove any hardware like old mouse, old wireless keyboard, modem(if its had one), and then try again, update reset only work on some cases of corruption, but in a computer that's working ok, most of the time is driver, W10 anniversary update has issues with old driver, after you finish, you plug them in again and will work without a problem.last solution if that fail, d
