Top windows media player by bmF0b2xpc » Wed, 22 Nov 2006 04:54:01 error message after renewing mcafee virusscan, when trying to play certain videos or media files. I get the message missing or corrupt files and prompts me to save instead of open file. I have checked parental controls, installed media player 11, installed the new verseon of internet explorer and the newest version of direct x. all of this did not fix the problem and these files worked fine before. also it seems that if someone sends me a file from work or form their home computer error message c00d11c6 the media player works fine. I am still able to download certain files but others do not download and I do not know the differance between all of the files that windows media player uses. natolir Top windows media player by zachd [ms » Thu, 23 Nov 2006 17:25:02 To what end? If you're trying to fix it, this is the wrong way to go about it. If you're trying to destroy it, you can use something like nLite, but it'll (intentionally) mess up your system. -- Speaking for myself only. Silverlight to receive a conference webcast. Ever since then, when I try to log on to a related subscription webcast I get error message C00D11C6 which says my computer is running low on memory. Quit other programs and try again. But my computer still has lots of memory and I am not running any other programs. The Media Player worked beautifully on this site before. I tried emptying the internet cashe because the conference website had a troubleshooting guide which said that might fix some problems, but it didn't work. I tried uninstalling Silverlight, but that didn't solve the problem, so I reinstalled it. My operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1. I think that means I have Windows Media Player 11. I know next to nothing about computers, but I think there must be a simple solution. I hope you can help me. Don't assume I know anything or any terminology. Thanks. -- CynthiaCB CynthiaCB, Jan 11, 2009 #1 Advertisements CynthiaCB Guest Neil, thank you for your prompt reply. Do I have Media Player 10?>I thought I had Media Player 11. I have whatever came on the laptop with the Vista operating system when I purchased it. I don't even know what a DVD decoder is, however, I clicked on the link you provided and downloaded the software. Now I have a list of "installed MPEG-2 decoders" and some are checked as MP10 Compatible and some are marked MCE compatible, but I can't see which one is set as the preferred decoder. None of them are checked. I have never used a DVD playback. How do I do that? And how do I determine which are trial versions? I know it must be frustrating to work with someone who knows virtually nothing about computers and has never even tried to use the Media Player per se. I just wanted to connect to my webcast. Thanks for your patience. -- CynthiaCB "Neil Smith [MVP Digital Media]" wrote: > Which DVD decoders do you have installed according to DecCheck ? > http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...AC-0AB6-4990-943D-627E6ADE9FCB&displaylang=en > > Are they trial or full versions (i.e. does DVD playback still work ?) > > Oddly this is possibly connected, as Mike Poz @ Microsoft noted in > http://microsoft.mailarchive.ca/public.windowsmedia.player/2007-06/0139.html > > You would probably benefit from uninstalling any trial versions of DVD > decoders and see if that makes any difference. > > HTH > Cheers - Neil > > On Sun, 11 Jan 2009 04:58:04 -0800, CynthiaCB > <> wrote: > > >Last weekend I installed Microsoft Silverlight to receive a conference > >webcast.
