I installed there InterVideo Windvd softtware an then I tired to view a DVD, I got error message: Create Overlay failed. Please lower you screen resolution or color depth and try again. It looks like the problem was: Winvnc video hook driver and InterVideo WinDVD cannot run together. Go to: Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management http://www.dell.com/support/article/ed/en/eddhs1/SLN18405 Device Manager In Display Adapters diable Winvnc video hook driver and restart computer. Please lower you screen resolutio by RedPenguin » 2009-01-13 12:09 I have this same problem. At first it didn't seem to cause any problems, just WinDVD randomly giving this error, but then it started constantly. Then Windows Media Player started to play DVD Audio only not Video would show, just a black screen, but no error. Tried messing with DirectX and everything, then someone on a forum on the net somewhere mentioned remote programs may be screwing with it, so I figured try in UltraVNC in with the error, found this thread, then disabled it, and I had more Video Accel in dxdiag plus both problems (WinDVD and WMPlayer) were fixed. UVNC can still function properly without the driver being enabled right?
