I get the following error message every time I open Win Live mail. I hit "Ignore" and every thing seems to operate OK. I just upgraded to Win 7, SP 1 from Vista, and this is my first time using Win Live mail. I used Windows mail, before, with Vista. after Windows Live Essentials update Discussion in 'Software' started by transplant64, Jun 30, 2012. transplant64 Private E-2 Hi guys. Recently my laptop http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php?threads/problem-after-windows-live-essentials-update.261093/ forced me into an update for Windows Live Essentials. After the update installed I cann no longer create any new email messages or replies on my Windows Live Mail account. I'm on a Compaq Presario CQ57 with an AMD C50 running Windows 7 Home SP1. Windows Live was OEM installed on my machine which was purchased in November 2011. I've tried to reinstall error message the update, reverse the update (no go), and finally a system restore to the point before the update. System restore would not complete the process. Whenever I open Windows Live Mail I get an error message that references a failure to initialize a 'Shared Canvas' in Windows Live Writer. HP tech support says I need to perform a full System Restore and reinstall the error message failed operating system. They say I have a corrupted SLUI file. I'm not sure I but that. Has anyone else had this issue? What can I do? Thanks in advance for the help. transplant64, Jun 30, 2012 #1 Major Attitude Co-Owner MajorGeeks.Com Staff Member Not sure on this one but since a restore is in your future we can try a couple things. Reinstall Live Mail and or uninstall and reinstall. Worth a shot. Major Attitude, Jun 30, 2012 #2 solaris89 First Sergeant In your Windows Live Essentials program files folder, there should be a file called wlarp.exe. It's the Windows Live repair utility. Might be worth running it as I've read it fixes many WLE errors. solaris89, Jun 30, 2012 #3 pwillener MajorGeek You may also want to try http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/ if the above does not help. pwillener, Jun 30, 2012 #4 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.)
