Notification or Alert Boxes are a great way to inform the user of a variety of messages, such as: error messages, success messages, warning messages and general http://www.cssportal.com/blog/css-notification-boxes/ notification. A great example for using these notification boxes would be for user registrations for a website, if for example the user made an error during registration, you could use an alert box to inform the user of the particular error. If however everything was correct, you could alert the user that registration has succeeded and that they can now login. In this tutorial, we are going to look at how to create a range of the most popular notification boxes, today we are going to focus on the following: 1. Error Box 2. Success Box 3. Warning Box 4. Notice Box Step 1: First we will create the basic layout for each box. .alert-box { color:#555; border-radius:10px; font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:11px; padding:10px 10px 10px 36px; margin:10px; } Lets take a look at each line: color:#555; - This is used for the text color. border-radius:10px; - We will give the borders a radius of 10px. font-family:… - Is the name of the font that we will be using. padding:10px 10px 10px 36px; - Padding inside the box, 10px for Top, Right and Bottom, 36px for Left. margin:10px; - The margin around the b
simple ideas and effects for unobtrusive website notifications. A little script is employed for showcasing some styles and CSS animations are used for the effects. View demo Download source Today we'd like to share a http://tympanus.net/codrops/2014/07/23/notification-styles-inspiration/ couple of simple styles and effects for website notifications. There are a lot of ways to show an unobtrusive message to a user: from the classic growl-like notification to a bar at the top http://fabien-d.github.io/alertify.js/ of the viewport. There's really no limit to making creative notification styles and effects but you should keep in mind to not overdo it if you don't want to make your user fall off error message a chair when he gets a notification :) If you want the notification to be a discreet message to the user, keep simplicity and subtlety in mind for the effect of appearance and also the disappearance. In this small set of notification style variations our aim was to do exactly that. We use CSS animations for showing and hiding the notifications. Some of them are preceded by a error message css dummy loading animation, which could be a nice idea for specific actions that require some time in a system (i.e. saving, sending a message, etc.). Note that the effects will only work in browsers that support CSS animations and 3D transforms. There are several issues in IE: Animating the stroke-dashoffset of the SVG path for the circular loading animation using a CSS animation does not work. There also seems to be some kind of problem with the flipping animation that is at the bottom of the page (if it's at the top it seems to work). The genie effect does not work because IE seems to have trouble with the translation value being in percentage. Firefox (Win) does not seem to like box shadows when flipping things, but we've left it nonetheless in the bouncy flip effect because it looks so neat in all the other browsers. We've used some great resources that helped creating the effects: Some animations were made with the help of bounce.js for some jelliness and bounciness in some of the effects. Snap.svg was used for animating/morphing the shape for the corner effect. One of SpinKit's animations was used for the loading/spinning effect that precedes one of the noti
me with enough time to do what needs to be done. If anyone wants to create a fork and maintain - by all means go for it! It's been great seeing people use it and enjoy it and this decision is simply because I don't believe it's fair that developers are looking for help and not getting it. I wish I had more time or contributions to keep it going and make it better, but the sad reality is that not usually the case on these kinds of projects. Forks I will be updating this site to list forks of alertify.js. At this time none are the official successor, I will leave the community to decide which one should become the main repo.
