Join Now When opening some files in Excel, our users are getting a pop up that says, "another user" is using this file. http://smallbusiness.chron.com/disable-readonly-excel-32586.html We know that no one else is using it, and if they close it and open it again, they don't get the error, or if they click notify me, it tells them within roughly 30 seconds that the file can be accessed, and if they don't click ok to edit the file immediately they get the read only pop up. I've had this issue https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/253686-excel-opens-and-says-another-user-is-using-file-open-as-read-only in the past; backing the file up, deleting it, and restoring it seemed to fix the problem. I've tried backing the files up, deleting and restoring them, and it didn't fix anything, I've changed the protected view settings in Excel, and nothing seems to make a difference. This occurs more frequently when a user is trying to open multiple files at once, but also happens if they are just opening one file. The files in question are on a Network Attached Storage Device if they makes any difference. I've done a bit of research, and all I can find is that this is an issue with Office 2010 and no one seems to have a solution. Any ideas?
