in Windows 95/98/ME Share Anonymous 18 June 2005 02:03:14 Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion (More windows explorer error message info?) i get this error message when i start windows 98 se: "error loading explorer.exe, you must reinstall windows" then the internet explorer 7 error message computer shuts down! i get the same error when i try to start in safe mode. i tried using the bootdisk but get the same error. i modified the system.ini file from the command prompt

so that shell=taskman.exe and i can run programs from the taskmanager. as such, i tried to run ie setup.exe from the winfile but get the same error. i've looked through microsoft knowledge base but nothing seems to work. i've run out of options! any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! thank you!!
