After I tried everything--I figured it out! Even after I deleted the contact and set it all back up again, it still wouldn't work and I would get the "+1(1)216116-11 Error Invalid Number Please re-send using valid 10 digit number" error message. BY chance, as I was typing in the number for a new trial text, the number popped up from "recent history" (the list of all recent texts to that number or name). Even though I had deleted ALL texts to and from her and all contact info, the number was still stored elsewhere. It dawned on me that her number and her contact info was stored in the memory as "recent text hi
216 116-11 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10-digit mobile number or valid short code” error. This message appears even though the phone number is 10 digit. Deleting the http://www.iphonetopics.com/error-invalid-number-message-in-texts-iphone-ipad/ contact and re-adding it not fix your problem. Solution :- Delete the contact (name and number) from your device. Delete all message with that contact. Start a new message by typing in the 1st letter of the person http://www.macyourself.com/2008/08/28/text-message-fails-on-iphone-error-invalid-number-notification/ name or number. Their contact still popup in a dropdown box. Do not select the text recipient. Select i (info)icon after the contact. Recent menu will popup. Choose remove from the top right corner. Do the same error message thing for every instance with name & number in it. Now try to type a new text. If it not solve your problem, the number might buried in some group texts. So delete every group text with the number. Other Fixes:- Reset network Settings in Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. Note : This will reset bluetooth pairings and Wifi passwords. Check the contacts which not have 10 digit number. This message error message text also appears when you try to send text messages to landline number. Reply Derek says: August 19, 2015 at 1:41 pm Ok so, I don't know if u have to follow all these steps or not but this is what i did and it fixed the problem. 1. Delete the person in question Contact info 2. Then I deleted all of my texts From "EVERYONE" not just the Person in question Then I turned my phone off waited 30secs turned back on and low and behold after I made sure to re-enter the person info with area code and no 1 in front of it, it worked for me , so like I said don't know if every step is needed but I can now text again to that person hope this helped Reply rls says: July 4, 2015 at 10:18 pm one bandaid solution i have seen work is typing the persons phone number in manually to send a text, but
will say it's AT&T's fault. Either way, there's a solution to get rid of that nagging problem that won't let you send texts on your iPhone. I received a text from a friend of mine today, but when I went to reply I was soon greeted with an automated response from AT&T saying I was trying to contact a non-existent phone number: From: 1 (121) 611-611 Error invalid number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. I believe this problem stemmed from me adding a person to my iPhone's contacts without the area code. Even when I went back into my contacts to edit the phone number with the area code, I was unsuccessful at shaking the error. Making a completely new contact and clearing the conversation's contents didn't resolve the problem either. The real solution, as it turns out, is to totally delete the conversation from the Text Messages screen. To delete the entire conversation, tap the Edit button on the main Text Messages screen. Press the minus symbol next to the problematic conversation and confirm that you want to delete it. That should be all you need to do, aside from adding the area code to your contact's phone number.
