Download Centre nikon d70s fee FEE error message displayed on SLR camera LCD < Back to Results Description If the cameras LCD screen displays "FEE" in the area where the aperture is normally displayed, please ensure that the lens is attached to the camera correctly. This error message will appear if the lens is not attached correctly to the camera or if youare not using a CPU lens such as the Nikon AF or Nikkor P lenses. Alternatively, if the lens has an aperture ring, it may not be set to f22 (or the highest aperture number on the aperture ring - normally marked in orange). Select the aperture number marked in orange on the lens and lock it using the aperture locking switch to prevent this occurring again. 1. FEE error message 2. Set to F22, or the highest aperture number normally marked in orange. Note the locking switch. If the above did not resolve the problemand you still experience the the error display FEE, in this case you may need to return your equipment for service.Before doing so please also check the following. 3. Check that the EE servo coupling highlighted on the lens has not been broken. 4. Check that the F-min switch highlighted on thecamera body has not been broken. My lens hasn't been moved from the locked position of f22 but I still get that error! Can anyone please help me. Either the lens is not designed with electronic contacts, or maybe the lens is not connected fully and clicked in to place. Make sure if the lens is a CPU lens, that it is completely connected onto the cameras bayonet lens mount. Also, be careful not to press the lens release button as this may cause the error. Rotate the lens to lock in place. You will hear a "click" when the lens is locked in place. If the problem only occurs occasionally and intermittently, the lens pins and/ or camera contacts may be dirty. Inspect the lens contacts for grease or dirt and wipe them clean with a lint free cloth. If setting the aperture at maximum aperture isn't doing the trick, then check the electrical contacts on the lens and on the camera mount to be sure they are clean and the spring-loaded contacts on the lens are all functioning properly. If you have an older lens that is not CPU compatible, you will only
