Desktop Software — Jun 30, 2016Connection problems with AOL Desktop softwareLearn what to do if you have connection problems with the AOL Desktop software.Sometimes you may not be able to sign on or connect to the AOL service. We've listed several solutions below that you can troubleshooting connectivity sql server use to fix this issue. Before you start You will need to know the version of the Microsoft Windows operating system installed on your computer. aol will now install the files required for you to connect to the service You can find this information by following the steps given in our help article Determining your version of Microsoft Windows. Solutions Select the correct location 1. Start the AOL Desktop software, but do not sign on.2. https://help.aol.com/articles/aol-desktop-software-error-messages Select your Click the Connection drop-down menu, and then click the location specific to your connection method.3. Attempt to sign in by clicking Sign On.Note: For dial-up connections, the default location is Home. All broadband connection methods use Broadband as the default. Check physical connections 1. Check whether the phone cord is unplugged from the back of the computer or wall jack.2. Plug a telephone cord into the phone jack https://help.aol.com/articles/Connection-problems-with-AOL-Desktop-sof-UST23 used by the modem, and then pick up the receiver to check for the dial tone. If there is no dial tone, please contact your local phone company.3. Ensure that the phone line goes directly from the wall jack to the computer. This is happening on Google and a similar message occurs on Comodo Dragon when I try to sign into the same website (in this case AOL mail). This does not happen on the 3 laptops in the house (using windows 7). Specs: Windows XP Home, SP 3 (yes I know it's old and not supported but cannot afford new system right now) Dell Dimension DIM3000 Intel Celeron CPU 2.40G Verizon Fios modem/router - hardwired Google up to date Comodo Dragon up to date Time Clock/Date correct Using Microsoft Security Essentials with Windows Firewall (have also tried disabling Firewall and still cannot access site). Since you are using Chrome, try connecting in Incognito mode. If you can connect that way, one of your browser extensions is interfering with the connection. Try removing add-ons you don't need or use. Click on the menu icon in the upper right and select New incognito window, or press Ctrl-Shift-N with the browser open. If that doesn't work, the SSL certificates on your computer may be out of date. Because Chrome uses the same certificates as Internet Explorer. make sure your W
