page is incorrect. Unfortunately, there are several possible causes. by Leo A. Notenboom, © 2011 On some websites, occasionally including my online bank sites, the http://ask-leo.com/how_do_i_fix_error_on_page_when_visiting_a_website_and_what_does_error_on_page_mean.html IRS, etc. etc., I sometimes get the message "Error on page," and the http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/window-7-internet-explorer-8-error-on-page-and-invalid-argument/ links don't work. What causes this message to appear and is there anything I can do to avoid it? I assume that the problem is with the site and not my computer, which makes me think I can't do much, but I thought I'd ask. It's very inconvenient. I use Windows 7 and Internet Explorer error on 8. • Taken quite literally, "Error on page" means exactly that: there's an error of some sort on the web page that is being displayed in your browser. There are three common reasons why this message can appear. With two, you can try to do something about, but with the other, you can't. • Reason One: It's The Website's Fault Web pages are written in what boils down to error on page one or more programming languages.† HTML - HyperText Markup Language - is the fundamental language used to code web pages. It defines things like paragraphs, bold, italics and other characteristics of page layout. Javascript, while separate and distinct from HTML, is another programming language that is often used within web pages to add interactive functionality. If you've used Google Docs, for example, you've seen a word processor or a spreadsheet program implemented primarily in Javascript. Java, which is unrelated to Javascript, is yet another programming language that can be used on web pages to create even richer applications that are available and run simply by visiting a web page. Like any programming language, it's possible for the humans writing the programs or pages to make mistakes. That's one source of "Error on page". Typically, the problem is in Javascript and the "Error on page" may indicate that there's a quite literally an error that's been left in by the web page designer or author. If that's the case, there's nothing that you can do, other than let the website owner know. Reason Two: Incomplete Downloads This is probably the more common reason for "Error on page". When you view a web page, say this

Interesting, the latest version of jQuery is 1.4.2 - which version of WordPress / Levitation are you using? Also, which plugins do you have active? If you disable them all does the slider function correctly? Best regards, James August 10, 2010 at 4:50 am #32140 swiftmarketingParticipant Thank you for trying to help us out. We are using WordPress 3.0 and looks like we are using Levitation Template Version: 1.3.1 We have disabled all Plugins. (Akismet, & Hello Dolly) Just a note. The site works fine on Firefox (Window 7 & Ubunto OS), Apple Safari (Windows 7 and Apple OS 10….) Issues we have is on IE 8 in combination with Window XP and 7. Thank you August 10, 2010 at 2:07 pm #32141 James MorrisonParticipant Hi! This may be a bug in the theme. I'll try a clean install and test in IE8 / Win XP & 7 and let you know once I've got it up and running. Regards, James August 11, 2010 at 10:17 am #32142 swiftmarketingParticipant Hi James, We also tested it with Google Chrome browser and it works fine. So it looks like It's only with IE8 ( may be IE7) browser's which is causing the issue. We even tried inserting a ( temporary fix) code so that IE8 will emulate IE7
