It sounds like you need to specify some boot parameters from the installation options screen by pressing F6 and deleting --quiet splash from the end of the line, then adding the appropriate parameters: for example noapic nolapic. A little bit of hacking in the scripts revealed it was due to the LVM commands (vgscan if I remember correctly), that would scan all available block devices, hda being one of them as a CD. 1344-153371-1015027 Back to top Guest Members #3 Guest 6,766 posts Posted 17 February 2007 - 12:53 AM So i can ignore that nmessages ? 1344-153371-1015028 Back to top Guest Members #4 Guest 6,766 posts Posted 20 February 2007 - 05:10 PM Yep, should be safe to ignore... 1344-153371-1015029 Back to top Report abuse Back to Miscellaneous Reply to quoted posts Clear Citrix ©1999-2016 Citrix Systems, Inc

The job runs for only one second and fails after copying only 700k of data. Huge error page that scrolls pretty fast, but it starts with: hda: dma_intr: status=0x51 {DriveReady SeekComplete Error} hda: dma_intr: error=ox40 {UncorrectableError}, LBAsect=26680, sector=26680 ide: failed opcode was: Unknown Buffer I/O error on device hda1, logical block 26617 Do I have a bad sector that Windows must be ignoring but Linux wont read it? The system (W2K Pro, NTFS) boots fine, Ran chkdsk same thing. My directory gets a 1KB BIOS, 1KB HDA, 791KB HDA1.000, and 10KB HDA1.FIRST_SECTORS files. Just hoping someone might be able to confirm if the issue is me or the disk :0) Thanks! You can try to remove the "lba" string in your isolinux.cfg or pxelinux.cfg file (and re-burn if ISO). You can also try to diagnotize the cause better, by doing the following : - try to get a shell and check the /var/log/partimage file for infos ; - try to perform manually the operations made by PING, so you can see on the screen what really happens. There are chances your HDD is KO, indeed.
