Setted up a provisioning for Debug and Release configuration. I'm performing in terminal: xcodebuild -target signtest -configuration Debug -sdk iphoneos clean build And it is building correctly. Now I'm trying to make an ipa file with this command: /usr/bin/xcrun -sdk iphoneos PackageApplication -v /Users/admin/Desktop/signtest/signtest/build/Debug-iphoneos/signtest.app/ -o /Users/admin/Desktop/binaries/signtest.ipa And I'm getting this error: Packaging application: '/Users/admin/Desktop/signtest/signtest/build/Debug-iphoneos/signtest.app/' Arguments: verbose=1 output=/Users/admin/Desktop/binaries/signtest.ipa Environment variables: HOME = /Users/admin DISPLAY = /tmp/launch-vj2zx7/org.x:0 COMMAND_MODE = unix2003 VERSIONER_PERL_PREFER_32_BIT = no SSH_AUTH_SOCK = /tmp/launch-YPyQMl/Listeners Apple_PubSub_Socket_Render = /tmp/launch-mcFbgX/Render CODESIGN_ALLOCATE = /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/usr/bin/codesign_allocate PWD = /Users/admin/Desktop/signtest/signtest LANG = pl_PL.UTF-8 USER = admin CLICOLOR = 1 LOGNAME = admin __CF_USER_TEXT_ENCODING = 0x1F6:29:42 SHLVL = 1 TERM_PROGRAM = Apple_Terminal OLDPWD = /Users/admin/Desktop/signtest/signtest/signtest _ = /usr/bin/xcrun TERM_PROGRAM_VERSION = 299 TERM_SESSION_ID = A74C6214-58A9-4CE6-9032-B902BD286253 PATH = /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin LSCOLORS = GxFxCxDxBxegedabagaced SHELL = /bin/bash TMPDIR = /var/folders/k2/28y_cf8d4b387lr2kf6vlsjr0000gp/T/ TERM = xterm-256color VERSIONER_PERL_VERSION = 5.12 Output directory: '/Users/admin/Desktop/binaries/signtest.ipa' Temporary Directory: '/var/folders/k2/28y_cf8d4b387lr2kf6vlsjr0000gp/T/hbdHfiqg31' (will NOT be deleted on exit when verbose set) + /bin/cp -Rp /Users/admin/Desktop/signtest/signtest/build/Debug-iphoneos/signtest.app/ /var/folders/k2/28y_cf8d4b387lr2kf6vlsjr0000gp/T/hbdHfiqg31/Payload Program /bin/cp returned 0 : [] error: Unable to copy application '/Users/admin/

Unanswered IPA Generation on Jenkins MartinStievenart Martin StievenartUSMember, University ✭ August 2015 edited August 2015 in Xamarin.Forms Hi, I'm having some trouble to generate an IPA for my Xamarin Forms iOS http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8536728/xcrun-packageapplication-failed-unable-to-copy-application project on Jenkins. I follow the documentation (http://developer.xamarin.com/guides/cross-platform/ci/jenkins_walkthrough/). I'm able to build the application with mdtool but there isn't any IPA file in my project after the end of Jenkins' job. I see some discussion on the forum that tell to use the archive method instead of the build for mdtool. But that didn't change anything either. I also https://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/48598/ipa-generation-on-jenkins try to use xcrun to create the IPA file after the application build, but i have that kind of error : error: Unable to copy application 'iOS/bin/iPhone/Release/Application.iOS.app/' into '/var/folders/v2/gnnclzrd2g98zqc89qn204km00007h/T/VXEBXe7WNV/Payload' There's not a lot of explanation on how the IPA is generated on the documentation so i'd like to have a clarification on that. Is anyone manage to create an IPA in Jenkins for their iOS Xamarin Forms project ? If so how do you do it ? I could give you more information about the Jenkins' job i use, ... if necessary. But then i had another error : error: Unable to create 'iOS/bin/iPhone/Release/volunteer.ipa The output option of xcrun need to be an absolute path not a relative one inside the project. By us

Instead, it picked up one provision profile from the xcode default directory, Library/MobileDevice/Provision Profiles/. Could you please give me some help? error unable I used PROVISIONING_PROFILE="path/Provision.mobileprovision" --embed $PROVISIONING_PROFILE swan488 commented Dec 9, 2013 I found that the provision profile provided in the --embed option is ignored, if there is a code signing ID configured in Build Setting in Xcode, and it wouldn't build if code signning ID is set to "Don't Sign". So I had a play with xcrun PackageApplication, I think it might help if you put an additional option --sign CODESIGNIDENTITY in it. error unable to Please correct me if I didn't use Shenzhen correctly. mattt commented Dec 16, 2013 I'm sorry to hear that you were hitting this unexpected behavior. Unfortunately, I'm having difficult reproducing this locally. If you were indeed able to get this working, would you mind sending a pull request with the necessary change? swan488 commented Dec 17, 2013 Hi Mattt, I ended up using xcrun PackageApplication with a -sign flag after ipa build, to resign it. That solved my problem quicker than making changes to the build source code. I'll have a try this weekend, or next week! I'll get back to you then! foulkesjohn commented Dec 19, 2013 I'm having a similar issue. I've downloaded a distribution profile using cupertino, it sits in the same directory as my xcworkspace and I run the following: ipa build -w Test.xcworkspace -s Test --embed AdHoc_Wildcard.mobileprovision When I inspect the embedded provisioning profile in the IPA file it is using my development profile and not the one specified. I've tried running it with --verbose to try and see whats happening. There are no errors. If I run the same command but with a non existing file it does not give any errors. swan488 commented Dec 20, 2013 Hey there, that was exactly the same problem i had. s
