But now on a new Fedora3 sever I try the same to a printer on Win2000 I this error: Unable to fetch machine password the user and password seams to work on : smbclient -L server -Uuser%password I find all shares, also "service". I can browse to my windows network via places->network. I can see my windows servers. When I double click on them, I am prompted with username, domain, and password. After I enter these, I am continually prompted for my password. I know that I have my username/domain/password correct (I use them from other windows machines to connect.) I'm using likewise-open5. Ubuntu 9.04 likewise-open5: 5.0.3991.1-0ubuntu2 I expect: A user on XP logged into a domain to access a share on my Ubuntu machine without asking for a username/password because the server automatically authenticates against active directory. What happend instead: XP keeps asking me for a username/password. Server producing error messages in log.
