Error Unable To Find Setup Wds
not complete successfully.. Error- Unable to find SETUP , needed to install the image \\ server\DeploymentShare\Operating Systems\customwim.wim ZTI ERROR – Non Zero return code by LTI Apply , rc=1 This problem occurs when the source Setup file is missing. It is easily fixed by ensuring you copy the Setup file when importing the custom WIM Browse to a location that contains the Setup Files for the OS you are deploying. This can either be from the original DVD or to the DeploymentShare\Operating System folder if you have import the DVD to the workbench. EDIT: You must use the correct media version for the image you are importing. If importing a custom WIM with SP1 installed then use media containing SP1 Like this:Like Loading... We use this WDS at my workplace. We have captured & deployed serveral Windows XP builds that don't require the 2nd item to be ticked. We use the 1st option and they deploy fine. Do you know what the difference might be that stops with Win7 builds working in the same way as XP? thank you. mzwarg Says: July 25, 2012 at 2:40 pm | Reply These steps worked for me! Erreur 1: A Connection to the deployment share (\\mdt01\mdtlab$) could not be made. The deployment will not proceed.Connection OK.

Im getting an error saying unable to map drive. I have followed various tweeks error unable such as editing LTIAPPLY.wsf and the OperatingSYstems.xml to remove the extra "\" in the UNC path with no luck. I can map the drive manually through the command prompt once the installation has failed but that is no use. Any advice? Cheers! As long as the image is syspreped propperly and the wim has the ENTERPRISE flag set it should import fine. You can check for the flag by using "imagex /info os.wim". Send PM 29th June 2010,03:00 PM #3 craigg Join Date Feb 2008 Location Birmingham, UK Posts 175 Thank Post 15 Thanked 9 Times in 6 Posts Rep Power 19 Yeah its a (kind of) thick image that I have created and sysprepped when I was just using WDS previous to setting up MDT on the server. It imports fine and the deployment share updates, Its just when I try and deploy the wim to a machine that it gives the above error. I have tried a custom import and copied the OS source files too which began to work then said "setup cannot continue, cant find the required files". I have got my hands on MDT 2010 update 1 beta which I am going to try as it apparently solves alot of issues. When you say: "I have put precaptured WIMs that I did manually into MDT and they worked alright" what import options did you select? Thanks for you reply. to deploy a Windows image on a Hyper-V Generation 2 VM using ConfigMgr boot media. Because Generation 2 is using UEFI and Secureboot, deployment is not working by default. Let's have a look at some errors I see when starting deployment from a 64-bit boot image. -Unable to find a raw disk that could be partitioned as the system disk.-Failed to prepare the system partition for staging. The system cannot find the drive specified. (Error: 8007000F; Source: Windows)-Failed to stage WinPE. Code(0x8007000F) -System partition not set.-Unable to find the partition that contains the OS boot loaders. Please ensure the hard disks have been properly partitioned.-Failed to prepare the system partition for staging. Unspecified error (Error: 80004005; Source: Windows)-Failed to stage WinPE. Code(0x80004005) Trick is you must disable Secureboot and create UEFI partitions yourself. Just turn Secureboot off in properties and when ConfigMgr boot media is started press F8 and create partitions yourself. Diskpart Select disk 0 (0 being the disk to setup) Clean (wipe the disk) Convert gpt (convert disk to GPT) Create partition efi size=200 (EFI system partition) Assign letter=s (Any allowable letter) Format quick fs=FAT32 (Format the ESP) Create partition msr size=128 (Create the MSR partition) Create partition primary (Create Windows partition) Assign letter=c Format quick fs=NTFS (Format primary partition) Exit After that start the task sequence and you will be fine. Just make sure the ConfigMgr boot media using is 64-bit and the one used on the deployment task sequence is 64-bit also. This is mandatory to get the job done. Hope it helps! Comment 8-4-2016: Create a diskpart script and add it into your USB/ISO (not PXE) media, if you don't want to type it manually. Press F8 and start your script with: diskpart /s filename.txt (Source) More blogposts on this topic: PXE Boot files in RemoteInstall folder explained (UEFI) Posted by Henk Hoogendoorn at 9:11 PM Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest Labels: 0x80004005, 0x8007000F, 80004005, 8007000F, BIOS, EFI, PXE, PXE Boot, RemoteInstall, UEFI, WDS, wdsmgfw.efi, wdsnbp.com 24 comments: AnonymousDecember 22, 2014 at 6:49 PMIs there a way to run these commands in the task sequence or is this going to be a manual step?ReplyDeleteReplies
