Posted 4 years ago # aniguenni offlineMember sorry guys. the title has to be named IOAPIC instead of IOAPCI. does anybody know, what does this mean? Posted 4 years ago # mojo offlineKey Master For your SD card reader try: #tazpkg -gi linux-mmc Posted 4 years ago # Trixar_za offlineKey Master @aniguenni It's an error message introduced in Linux 2.6.35 and up. Basically it happens when your system doesn't support APIC. It's http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/error-unable-to-locate-ioapci-for-gsi a harmless error, but doesn't look all that nice. You can make it go away by adding noapic to the end of your grub boot line. Adding it from Tazpanel: 1. Boot--> Boot Loader 2. Click on View or edit menu.lst 3. Click Edit 4. Add noapic to the end of the kernel line so it looks something like this: kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.37-slitaz root=/dev/hda1 quiet noapic 5. Click Save and you're done. The error should be gone the next time you boot Posted 4 years ago # aniguenni offlineMember @ Trixar_za thank's very much. Now the boot doesn't show this error any more. So this looks nicer to me. ;-) @ mojo i installed the linux-mmc-2.6.37.tazpkg, but no effect ;-( Posted 4 years ago # mojo offlineKey Master Modules in linux-mmc: tazpkg list-files linux-mmc Verify the modules in linux-mmc are loaded: lsmod If they're not loaded modprobe them all as root. Find the module that works, add it to /etc/rcS.conf LOAD_MODULES= If none of the modules activate the card reader post the complete line with the name and pciids or usbids vendor:device of the card reader PCI: lspci -nn USB: tazpkg -gi usbutils ; lsusb Posted 4 years ago # Trixar_za offlineKey Master If you find that your USB ports sometimes stop working, which would make the reader break too, maybe try adding irqpoll to the end for your bootline like you did noapic. It fixed a similar issue for me. Posted 4 years ago # aniguenni offlineMember @ mojo I put in your
Post #1 of 6 (1083 views) Permalink Lots of IOAPIC or GSI related errors Hi, I'm getting lots of IOAPIC and GSI related http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/xen/users/267146 errors, both in xen's and the dom0 kernel's dmesg (see below). It might https://bugs.debian.org/598533 have to do with the fact, that I added "acpi=ht" to my xen command line. Previously to adding that, the errors didn't show up. But I added it, because it was said to fix my reboot problems. But along with adding acpi=ht, I also upgraded dom0 to kernel 3.7.1. I'm using error unable Xen 4.2. My grub settings are as follows: kernel /boot/xen.gz dom0_mem=512M acpi=ht vga=mode-0x314 module /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/md0 ro quiet Regards, Sven # xm dmesg|egrep -i "apic|gsi" (XEN) ACPI: APIC BF780390, 00AC (r1 7522MS A7522800 20110319 MSFT 97) (XEN) Processor #0 7:10 APIC version 21 (XEN) Processor #2 7:10 APIC version 21 (XEN) Processor #4 7:10 APIC version 21 (XEN) Processor #6 7:10 APIC version 21 (XEN) error unable to Processor #1 7:10 APIC version 21 (XEN) Processor #3 7:10 APIC version 21 (XEN) Processor #5 7:10 APIC version 21 (XEN) Processor #7 7:10 APIC version 21 (XEN) Enabling APIC mode: Flat.
