I was applying the recommendations described in ME923977, but in the end of solving process I forgot to perform step 8 (uncheck the field back) and after that I got this error. Do not forget to uncheck the field as it was http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-4015-source-DNS-eventno-333-phase-1.htm before. x 79 EventID.Net ME969488 describes a situation when this event is recorded when running the Domain Name Service (DNS) role on a Read-Only Domain Controller (RODC) with the suggestion to move the DNS to a writable controller. x 90 Anonymous A combination of event 1030, 1058, and 4015 can occur when a NIC is replaced and the binding order is wrong. DNS was installed prior to the installation and this error appeared in the event viewer after the install. The DNS zone was configured as a secondary zone but was out of synch with the primary AD Integrated zone run

There are no other DC's or DNS servers on the network. I am having a problem with machines taking 15mins to logon and I have event viewer traced this back to a DNS problem on the server. This server has only been installed a week. In the TCP IP Configuration of the NIC i have set the Primary DNS to 192.168.0.100 the servers own IP. In event viewer I'm seeing Event 4015 The DNS server has encountered a critical error from the Active Directory. Check that event viewer error the Active Directory is functioning properly. The extended error debug information (which may be empty) is "". The event data contains the error. Event 4013 The DNS server is waiting for Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) to signal that the initial synchronization of the directory has been completed. The DNS server service cannot start until the initial synchronization is complete because critical DNS data might not yet be replicated onto this domain controller. If events in the AD DS event log indicate that there is a problem with DNS name resolution, consider adding the IP address of another DNS server for this domain to the DNS server list in the Internet Protocol properties of this computer. This event will be logged every two minutes until AD DS has signaled that the initial synchronization has successfully completed. Doing initial required tests Testing server: Default-First-Site-Name\SERVER Starting test: Connectivity ......................... SERVER passed
seems to be running well but have notice you keep getting a repeating DNS Error like this: Event ID: 4015 Source: DNS-Server-Service Details: "The DNS server has encountered a critical error from Active Directory. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly. The extended error debug information (which may be empty) is "". The event data contain the error." All do you need to do is: Setting a Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2012 Domain Controller as a Global Catalog. Transferring FSMO Roles in Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2012. For fix that, click in the below link and do the step 4 and 5. http://systemadministratorrecipes.blogspot.com/2012/06/migrating-active-directory-domain.html Now you Active Directory is functioning properly, and the DNS error is fixed :) Posted by Osmani Urquiza at 2:16 PM Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest No comments: Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom) About Me Osmani Urquiza View my complete profile Blog Archive ► 2014 (3) ► November (3) ▼ 2013 (16) ► September (1) ► August (2) ► June (3) ► May (2) ▼ March (5) Disable USB Port in a Windows Operating System Com...
