the event viewer, I got this cryptic error: Event Type: Error Event Source: nv Event Category: None Event ID: 13 Date: 12/09/2002 GR SW Notify Error on 0001 d3d05601 00000096 00000248 20000000 00000002 What exactly does this mean, since I got about 60 of the exact same errors in the event log, and this is the first time I have seen this, is this something I did in coding openGL to cause this or is this unrelated? While I did send a e-mail to Nvidia, I had no reply for a week, so this is my next best shot, since I know a few Nvidia guys hang out around here... Note, I can't replicate the problem, since I compiled the program again, and this time I didn't get those errors in the event log. Any one shed some light on this? These event log entries are cases where the NVIDIA 40.xx driver recovers from a serious graphics error, possibly something that would have hung the chip or locked the driver in previous drivers. This could be a latent driver bug (programm

Comments: Anonymous I spent years on this and couldn't solve it. Now I know what was https://www.opengl.org/discussion_boards/showthread.php/144017-NV-driver-errors-in-event-viewer the reason on my Nvidia GT 6600. This card has an additional main connector on the card. This was connected with the power supply, but in the connection was a plug where 1 cable was not fitted right. Therefore the card gets only power from PCI Bus. That is definitely a power supply problem. Either the additional power supply is http://www.eventid.net/display-eventid-14-source-nv-eventno-10722-phase-1.htm not connected at all or fails. Can be easily measured with mains test equipment. Also is possible that the power supply is to weak (I have 450 Watts and that was good enough after i repaired the connection). The error is gone now. x 2 Anonymous In my case, this error occurred after installing the NVidia ForceWare driver Release 158 Version: 158.22 in Windows XP. x 1 Anonymous I have this problem with the NVidia driver 190.62 (released 17.08.2009) on a GeForce 9800 GTX. It only appears when I play certain games or view any large video files. Changing or updating the driver was no solution, so I thnk, it must be a hardware problem. x 4 Anonymous From a support forum: "I get this error pretty frequently if I overclock my 8800gtx beyond 620 core. I read that increasing pci-e voltage a bit in the bios can help with this. It didn't work for me. I think I got this error as i was undervolting by Q6600 from 1.3 to 1.2675. Since I've put my CPU vcor
