Exec Format Error Modprobe
after saying "Skip CD check", i am getting an anaconda error which says: "Exec of anaconda failed: exec format errorinstall" After that i am advised to reboot. My Server is a AMD Opteron Dual http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=118282 Core with a 3Ware 4Port Raid card and two standalone SATA drives. I just gave FreeNAS a try, which worked but in my first test of OpenFiler as VMWare Image, i found that to be more the way i like it but now i dont want to put that on a hypervisor but on bare metal. Thanks for infos how to proceed with installation. Must be something crazy because it https://forums.openfiler.com/index.php?/topic/3433-install-from-iso-results-in-exec-format-errorinstall/ fails so fast in the install process. Marc Back to top #2 loge loge Newbie Guests 2 posts Posted 25 September 2009 - 06:02 AM Ok, here are some more findings, perhaps its solved now: - the x86 CD was perhaps broken, i had some error messages that says that device hdb had read errors. Even though i checked it with the install option "check cd" Then i created a X86_64 ISO and now: - i couldnt use the X11 installer for some reasons, got errors But with the text installer i am at least in the partitioning section now which is quite ok and from here it should work.... You have to get the right executable or recompile. –Karl Richter Jul 15 '15 at 9:24 add a comment| 5 Answers 5 active oldest votes up vote 15 down vote You're trying to run an executable compiled for an ARM architecture on an x86-64 architecture, which is much like asking your processor who only speaks English to take directions in Chinese. If you need to run that executable you have two choices: Get an x86-64 version of the executable (by any mean; if you're unable to get an x86-64 version of the executable but you're able to get its source code, you can try to recompile it on the virtual machine); Install Ubuntu Server for ARM in place of Ubuntu 14.04.2 (amd64). This requires either a physical machine running on an ARM architecture or a virtualization software that can emulate it. share|improve this answer edited Nov 14 '15 at 8:58 answered Jul 15 '15 at 5:39 kos 19.8k54889 add a comment| up vote 7 down vote This can also occur if you attempt to run an x86-64 executable on a 32-bit platform. In one specific instance, I downloaded Visual Studio Code and tried to run it on my Ubun
