vb.net visual-studio-2012 axshockwaveflash share|improve this question edited Feb 22 '15 at 7:26 Tim Williams 56.6k74163 asked Feb 22 '15 at 7:02 Azam Alvi 2,38632855 The COM error code is very unusual, few Google hits and no answers. Very unlikely it has anything to do with Flash itself, this at best points towards an issue with the source control integration built into Visual Studio. Hard to make that rhyme with dragging a component from the toolbox however. But only lead you have, make sure that your source control is working properly and that you haven't checked-in the AxShockwaveFlashObjects.dll interop library. –Hans Passant Feb 22 '15 at 9:27 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote To resolve this problem you should manualy register Flash ocx component. To register ocx component you should use Regsvr32 (ms support): Regsvr32 [/u] [/s]

The app was http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28655398/failed-to-create-component-axhost initially created under Windows XP and is now being developed under 64-bit Windows 7.
If I create a new app and drop the same control onto a form, it works. It also worked fine under XP. DETAILS ATTACH A FILE EDIT THIS ITEM Assign To Item can only be reassigned when it is active. Submit Posted by alaa9jo on 5/20/2010 at 2:13 AM I tried to add one of Kodak's ocx controls to my form in VS2010 Final and I faced exactly the same error but the steps (not all of them) mentioned by Camperon has worked for me.I think restarting Visual Studio after adding the control to the toolbox is very important, this is exactly what Camperson thought and he is correct,I added those steps in the Workarounds section.Too bad the issue still exists in VS2010 final. 2011 12:22 PM I rescently downloaded version 1.1 and now I am unable to add the COM object to a form. VS2010 throws an error when I try to drop the COM object on a user control. The error reads, "Failed to create component 'AxHost'. The error message follows: 'System.Reflection.ReflectionTypeLoadException: Unable to load one or more of the requested types..." I can uninstall version 1.1 and reinstall version 1.0 and it works just fine. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If there a resolution to this issue? Re: Unable to add COM object to formMay 20 2011 12:11 PM Posted by a ceTe Software moderator Hello, We are able to add the v1.1 of Viewer control to VS 2010 windows forms without any problem. This could be related to an improperly registered ocx file. If the DynamicPDF.ocx file is registered properly, you should be able to add the Viewer control to the windows form from the tool bar. Please use the below commands from command prompt to unregister the v1.0 ocx and register the v1.1 ocx file and see if it works. Register Command: regsvr32 DynamicPDFViewer.ocx Unregister Command: regsvr32 DynamicPDFViewer.ocx /u Thanks, ceTe Software Support Team All times are US Eastern Standard time.
