As on writing this, since this is a new firmware and a new jailbreak - without a few totally compatible Cydia packages like Mobile Substrate - you might also encounter other errors during runtime/installation. One common error we have faced is while installing a new tweak, sometimes, it cancels the progress throwing some error. In most cases, we've been able to bypass this error by re-installing the tweak after a while or respringing the device before installing the tweak again. was wondering if anyone else had had this problem with their sources in Cydia - no sources will download as cydia some index files failed to download they all say cached failure. I think it's a permissions error because if I go to the /var/lib/ folders (partial and fully downloaded) they lack permissions, and start working when I chmod them https://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-fix-failed-to-fetch-cydia-error/ to 7777. I have tried the common fixes (deleting all sources in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ and deleting all partial/complete files in /var/lib/apt/partial/). I've chmodded and set ownership to mobile/mobile for both folders and entire hierarchies, but it seems like the debian utility that downloads my sources sets newly downloaded files to another permission, which removes read/execute privileges from Cydia, which leads to the Cached Failure errors. I've also tried http://www.jailbreakqa.com/questions/325880/host-unreachablecached-failure-errors-in-cydia reinstalling debian utilities and Cydia/Cydia-lproj. My last resort is a restore, but I'd like to know if anyone else has had this problem. I've searced for quite a bit but everyone else that has this error either hasn't figured out that it's a permissions error or theirs was fixed just by deleting the sources/partial source files. I've posted in IRC, reddit, and JailbreakQA but no one seems to know what's going on. I'm still convinced it's a permissions issue, because the cached failure is too instantaneous and seems to be the only thing that can be doing it. thanks again, JonLuca failure cached jailbreak sources taig cydia asked 25 Jun '15, 10:37 jonluca 41●2●7 Answer this question.
