Libvirtd Error Unable To Initialize Network Sockets
13.1: virt-manager fails to create virtual machine Greetings! When attempting to create a virtual machine the virt-manager somehow gets upset when attempting to allocate the storage pool. The situation: Box A: - Xen-aware kernel 3.11.6-4-xen - Xen: 4.3.0_14 - libvirt: 1.1.2 All properly set up and running Intended vm layout on box A: - Memory allocation: 2GB - CPU allocation: 2 - Networking: Delegated to libvirt without xend interfering (routed virtual nnetworking; NO NAT, NO bridging!) - looks o.k. - Installation media: DVD-ROM (attached as pre-formatted fs) - looks o.k. - Disk (complete disk image within /dev/sda4) - failure! - Intended guest OSes: openSuSE 13.1 and Windoze 7 (in two separate VMs) Box B: - Normal kernel without Xen - Running virt-manager for access to box A Box A has the port assigned to libvirt open in its firewall so remote connections are possible. Remote connection configured as xen+tcp (with SASL authentication) - authentication successful. When I attempt to generate a new machine the installation wizard first sta

I have successfully installed Xen. Verified with xm info virsh-version which returns this: Compiled against library: libvir 0.9.2 Using library: libvir 0.9.2 Using API: Xen 3.0.1 Running hypervisor: Xen 4.1. Now when I tried to install DomU it said: unable to connect to 'localhost:8000': , in VMM. So, I followed this bug link. I could now start adding DomU. I was able to install a PV guest OS. However, when I got to the HVM guest OS part, I keep getting the statement: error: domain 'ubuntu-hvm' does not exist This error shows when I execute the following command: sudo xm create /etc/xen/ubuntu-hvm.cfg My ubuntu-hvm.cfg looks like the following: builder = "hvm" name = "ubuntu-hvm" memory = "512" vcpus = 1 vif = [''] disk = ['phy:/dev/xenvg/ubuntu-hvm,hda,w','file:/home/jwayne/ubuntu-12.04-desktop-amd64.iso,hdc:cdrom,r'] vnc = 1 boot="dc" I did some internet searches, and some site the dhcp = 'dhcp' line in the configuration file as the problem (which I do not have). I've also seen some variations of the configuration file where they set: kernel = "/usr/lib/xen-4.1/boot/hvmloader" which doesn't resolve the error message for me. The way I create a logical volume is as follows: sudo lvcreate -L 4G -n ubuntu-hvm /dev/xenvg The logs at /var/log/xen/qemu-dm-ubuntu-hvm.log looks like the following.
