attempts at a Desktop install of Archbang. In my time away, I went combing through my computer's hardware, wondering pacman failed to commit transaction conflicting files what could have been the issue. It turns out that my hard drive had an error that was caused by me installing operating systems over each other in short periods of time.
Arch Linux Pacstrap Failed To Install Packages To New Root
I then fixed the hard drive error, and on the Desktop installed Manjaro, which is similiar to this, however it uses XFCE and not openbox. You guys were great help and I am sorry for any trouble I may have caused.I did install this one on the laptop though, today in fact. And, the install went down without a hitch, and no kernel panic failed to install packages to new root arch or freeze. I am, however, having a slight problem. When trying to update, i get this error:error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files) filesystem: /etc/mtab exists in filesystem Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded. Also when I tried to install a package as a test, VLC to be exact, I get this error:error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files) xcb-util-keysyms: /usr/include/xcb/xcb_keysyms.h exists in filesystem xcb-util-keysyms: /usr/lib/libxcb-keysyms.so exists in filesystem xcb-util-keysyms: /usr/lib/libxcb-keysyms.so.1 exists in filesystem xcb-util-keysyms: /usr/lib/libxcb-keysyms.so.1.0.0 exists in filesystem xcb-util-keysyms: /usr/lib/pkgconfig/xcb-keysyms.pc exists in filesystem Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded. This issue does not seem like a very huge one, as it does not affect the overall functionality. It is, however, an issue because I am a command line person. I do a lot of installing and removing from the command line, and this little hickup has thwarted my attempts. My plan, after this issue is fixed, is of course to install my favorite software, access the AUR repository via yaourt and install a few other things, and do some configuration. So any help would be much appreciated.Much respect and gratitude,r00t Last edited by r00tH4cK3r (2012-01-08 12:56:28) Arch Rules! Offline #2 2012-01

error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files) filesystem: /etc/mtab exists in filesystem Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded. @see [Solved] Pacman "filesystem: /etc/mtab exists in filesystem" / Newbie Corner / Arch Linux Forumsfilesystems: @see Arch Linux - News: filesystem upgrade - manual intervention required # pacman -S filesystem --force --forceオプションは危険なオプションなので普段使わない方がいいけれど、今回は使わないといけない。 # pacman -S gnome ここで error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files) libltdl: /usr/include/libltdl/lt_dlloader.h exists in filesystem libltdl: /usr/include/libltdl/lt_error.h exists in filesystem libltdl: /usr/include/libltdl/lt_system.h exists in filesystem libltdl: /usr/include/ltdl.h exists in filesystem libltdl: /usr/lib/libltdl.a exists in filesystem libltdl: /usr/lib/libltdl.so exists in filesystem libltdl: /usr/lib/libltdl.so.7 exists in filesystem libltdl: /usr/lib/libltdl.so.7.3.0 exists in filesystem ... ... @see [SOLVED] fvwm-crystal doesn't install. Help / Applications & Desktop Environments / Arch Linux Forums実際コマンドを打ってみると、 # pacman -Qo /usr/include/libltdl/lt_dlloader.h ->/usr/include/libltdl/lt_dlloader.h is owned by libltdl 2.4.2-2 と出る。
