the nco_pa.conf file. Looking at the file you posted your routing table entry is missing the password field, this is what you have:- nco_routing { host 'ranagg2' 'RANAGG2_PA' 'root' } each entry should be:- host 'hostname' 'PA name' 'username' 'password' The warning can be ignored, it's just failing to find the host information for the IPv6 interface ::1 (which is the localhost address). If you want to get rid of it then an entry of ::1 localhost in the /etc/hosts file will sort it out. Ta, -Alex users-bounces at netcoolusers.org wrote on 11/04/2011 09:06:04: > From: fatih bilgili
Favorite Rating: Error: "Unable to get host IP address" during eDirectory configurationThis document (7004771) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document. Environment Novell eDirectory 8.8 for Linux Situation After the installation of the eDirectory 8.8.x RPMs a new eDirectory instance is configured as shown below. After attempting to configure the eDirectory instance the following error is shown and the configuration fails and exits:ERROR: Unable to get host IP address. https://netcoolusers.org/archives/users/2011-April/062926.html Resolution The system is not able to resolve its hostname to a valid IP address. Ensure that the hostname is only linked to a non-localhost IP address as covered in the documentation. Adding a line to /etc/hosts such as the following can resolve the symptom, though the /etc/hosts file is often modified by the system (such as https://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7004771 Yast) so this change may be lost eventually:10.0.35.1 server0.lab.novell.com server0 This error can also be seen if you have a different host name (server name) in the hosts file as configured in Yast. Verify the two match and there are no typos in the hosts fileor Yast from when the hosts file has been edited manually, or the server has been renamed. This has been resolved in eDir 8.8 SP6 Additional Information server0:~ # ndsconfig newEnter admin name with context[admin.org]:.admin.user.systemEnter the password for .admin.user.system:Re-enter the password for .admin.user.system:Enter tree name[root-server0-NDStree]:sles11treeEnter server context[org]:server0.server.systemPlease enter the absolute path for the instance [ /var/opt/novell/eDirectory ]:Please enter absolute path of the database directory [ /var/opt/novell/eDirectory/data/dib ]:Stopping the service 'ndsd'... I'm new to Ubuntu Server, this is my first attempt. This is the cenario: I'm connected to internet and the connection go to my D-Link DI-524 good and old router. I have 2 computers (Win7 and Linux) cabble connected in the router and one mobile device wirelless connected. The Win7 computer connects to the internet without problems, the same thing happens with mobile device. The linux 12.04 fresh installed server can't connect. FYI, in the router I configured DHCP to give an static IP to the linux server (192.168.0.102). I can connect via ssh from windows to linux without any problem. But I can't reach internet from linux. So, when I do: Code: wget www.google.com I get this error: Code: --2012-08-25 09:42:35-- http://www.google.com/ Resolving www.google.com (www.google.com)... failed: Temporary failure in name resolution. wget: un
