I try to connect to the server I'm supposed to be able to connect to, instead of asking me my password, I get the error message: "failed to open a secure file transfer session" And then right after I
Failed To Open A Secure Terminal Session Authentication Error
clicked ok, i get this one: "failed to open a secure terminal session: protocol error" failed to open a secure terminal session key exchange failed . SO I can't connect... I think It might have something to do with the fact that I just formated my computer and tectia failed to open a secure file transfer session I installed back some files that i had in backups before. Since I had an older version of SSH before, maybe some files of it where installed somewhere and the paths get mixed up or something. But

I really don't know what I'm talking about, I don't even know what a path is really.. (well kind of , but don't know how to check this or change it). Maybe it does'nt have anything to do with this at all either. Can you help me? Thank you very much! S. Ssh-broker-g3.exe Has Been Denied Access
and want to SSH onto a third party. Have you checked the authentication methods? It could be that you were using public key authentication, and if you have deleted this key during the format, you will need to generate a new one and supply it to the SSH Server's machine (they will have to do it for you). What client were you using previously? 6.2.0.612 is not a valid release, so I assume you are using 6.1.9? Thanks, James (Apr 08 '11 at 14:51) jamesw ♦♦ One Answer: oldestnewestmost voted 0 The 6.2.0 version of Tectia Client has not been released yet. This particular build of client (6.2.0.612) is from a development branch from one year ago and would not recommend using it. Licensed customers can download the latest released version of Tectia products from the customer download center. And anyone can download the latest released version for evaluation purposes from tectia.com here. link answered Apr 08 '11 at 15:53 Roman ♦♦ 773●5●8●17 Your answer toggle preview community wiki Follow this questionBy Email:Once you sign in you will be able to subscribe for any updates hereBy RSS: Answers Answers and Comments Markdown Basics *italic* or __italic__ **bold** or __bold__ link:[text](http://url.com/ "title") image?![alt text](/path/img.jpg "title") numbered list: 1. Also, does it consistently happen with the same hosts/ips? or does it sometimes work and sometimes not against the same host? link answered Feb 01 '11 at 19:19 Roman ♦♦ 773●5●8●17 i don't have https://answers.ssh.com/questions/748/connection-error-failed-to-open-a-secure-terminal-session-disconnected-by-an-application sshg3 (not sure what tool that is); this tectia profile used to work now it doesn't work anytime (consistently failing). It works on other boxes and I have not changed the profile for any of them... I did look at the profile and it appears just like the others except for the IP address and that IP address works fine for other people's tectia so the IP is not the problem... (Feb 04 '11 at 18:06) John Cochran found the answer. the tectia profile was fine - it was the server i was trying to login to that was rejecting the userid login - just gave a weird result that was somewhat cryptic in message... my userid account was locked in a way the just needed to be reset... I was initially able to connect to SSH client from remote computer and perform file transfer function without any problem. Now suddenly when i try to connect to my server remotely thru SSH client,I get the following errors. Failed to open a secure file transfer session. File transfer could not be started or it exited unexpectedly.Exit value 0 was returned. Most likely the sftp-server is not in the path of the user on the server-side. I am able to open a new terminal window but the file transfer does not work. Can anyone help me with this?
