I was trying that originally, it made no difference. I simplified the command as far so I could after that. I'll verify and update once I get to work today. leth commented Jan 20, 2015 Yep, d

When I try to add permissions when failed to open mounting: sudo mount_afp -o user=pi,group=pi afp://username:password@192.168.1.7/myshare ./mydir I get this error: FUSE reported the following error: fuse: failed to open /dev/fuse: Permission denied Unknown error 1, 13. I have tried sudo usermod -aG fuse pi exec su -l $USER and gpasswd -a pi fuse If I remove the -o user=pi,group=pi, it will mount but I need to access the directory as root, which I am trying to avoid. Any help is really appreciated. raspbian mount share share|improve this question asked Aug 28 '14 at 12:30 PhillyNJ 7441725 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote accepted Here is the solution sudo mount.cifs //192.168.1.XX/Passport /home/pi/passport -o user=johndoe, nounix, sec=ntlmssp This mounts a mac share called Passport on 162.168.1.XX to a directory on my pi /home/pi/passport share|improve this answer answered Nov 22 '14 at 22:02 PhillyNJ 7441725 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email

However, when I attempt to mount the remote directory, I receive: failed to open /dev/fuse: Permission denied ls -l /dev/fuse returns: crwxrwxr-x 1 root fuse 10, 229 2010-11-12 09:08 /dev/fuse id backup returns: uid=501(backup) gid=501(backup) groups=501(backup),46(plugdev),108(fuse) The only way I can get the directory to mount is if I run chmod a+w /dev/fuse, but this is reset at some point during the day. It's a kludge though, and I'd rather figure out why the group permissions aren't working. debian debian-lenny sshfs fuse share|improve this question asked Nov 22 '10 at 18:11 steeef 4114 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote How is your backup script run?
