IT keep saying LiveUpdate server is busy. Error: "LU1817: LiveUpdate was not able to install any of the [number] updates taht you selected" when running LiveUpdate for Norton 360 2.0 This message indicates that the LiveUpdate server is busy. Please wait 24 hours, and then run LiveUpdate again. I receive this message 3 times in the last week. Norton server cannot be so busy all 3 times. Try this: Empty the LiveUpdate cache. Options>Last Tab>Remove All Files From Cache Run LiveUpdate, even if it fails, and reboot Make sure you are connected to the internet Make sure LiveUpdate is allowed access: Settings>Firewall>Program Control. Options>Last Tab>Remove All Files From Cache on the Norton 360 panel. The firewall I have is Norton 360. I highly doubt it will block it own product. Error Message Error: "LU1835: Connection to the LiveUpdate server failed" Cause Time-out: The most common cause for this error is slow internet network download speeds. Rights and permissions: This error message appears if LiveUpdate does not have the correct rights and permissions to pass through the firewall. Presence of a legacy file: The presence of the legacy file S32LUHL1.DLL can cause this problem Firewall settings: Blocked access to required ports Damaged files: This problem can happen when the files that LiveUpdate uses become damaged Old files in the cache: This error can also happens because previous files were available in the cache. Tried to uninstall and reinstall NAV, tried to delete the files and copy files from another system...it still won't update completely. I know I am not the only one to have this problem, failed to I have encountered and corresponded with others. Any help out there? Shirley, Jul 21, 2004 #1 ANHEDONIC Will Title For Food i had been using Norton Antivirus 2002 and it wouldn't install a Symantec Redirector Update... after trying numerous times, Liveupdated failed to read my Subscription to antivirus definitions and at that point i was just fed up and completely uninstalled Norton and downloaded Avast Anti-virus failed to connect (free home edition)... i like it much better...
