Failed To Authenticate The Sso Server
AD all running on the same server. I have one XP machine, fresh install, joined to this domain.I setup ePO following the step by step guide and i registered my AD server and pulled in all failed to authenticate to the chef server the machine objects and they all show up under My Orginization just fine. Only problem is, nothing is being installed to my XP machine. I click on the machine name under My Organization --> Computers and click the ping button in the bottom left and I get "Failed to determine host IP address"Firewalls on both server and client are turned off. I have tried deleting the machine and re-syncing AD and still cant ping. From failed to authenticate to the chef server (http 401) a cmd prompt on the server i can ping by IP, FQDN, Host Name, etc.... same from the client. We can ping back and forth all day long using CMD but from the ePO managment website it seems like it just doesnt see my machine? What can i do? Any ideas? RMCCULLO Nov 19, 2009 3:13 PM (in response to mwilke) When you use the AD sync it imports the Hostname and FQDN only. You would have to get a sucessfull push to the machine and allow it to populate back into the epo console before it would show you an IP address. What does the Server.log say right after you attempt to send the agent install? expired -220" NDS Error: "bad password -222" NDS Error: "password expired -223" NDS Error: "failed authentication -669" fix The LDAP bind operation initiates a protocol session and (optionally) authenticates a https://community.mcafee.com/thread/19208?start=0&tstart=0 user to the server. The authentication process requires that a user's distinguished name and password be passed as part of the bind. The server will return an LDAPResult upon recieving and processing the bind. The LDAPResult contains three main fields - resultCode, matchedDN and errorMessage. The resultCode contains the LDAP error number; a code of zero is used to indicate successful https://support.novell.com/docs/Tids/Solutions/10067240.html completion of the operation. In the case of a bind, this would mean that the user has authenticated successfully. The matchedDN is not used in the bind operation; it will always be a blank string. The errorMessage is vendor defined. If the bind was not successful, the server can include an additional ASCII text message indicating possible causes of the problem. When NDS password restrictions are set and the authentication fails, the LDAPResult will contain additional information in the errorMessage. In addition, the resultCode could be different than the standard LDAP one indicating an incorrect password. Developers might finds this data helpful in alerting the user to the reason why they couldn't login. For instance, the application could distinguish between a user whose account has been disabled and one who just typed in the wrong password. The following section details the type of NDS password restriction set and the corresponding resultCode and errorMessage when the user can't authenticate. Restriction: None Description: No NDS password restrictions are set. Rather, this details the results when the user has actually typed the wrong

An error code is associated with each type of issue. 2 Standard Error Codes Error / Data Code Error Description 0 LDAP_SUCCESS Indicates the requested client operation completed successfully. 1 LDAP_OPERATIONS_ERROR Indicates an internal error. The server is unable to respond with a more specific error and is also unable to properly respond to a failed to authenticate request. It does not indicate that the client has sent an erroneous message. In NDS 8.3x through NDS 7.xx, this was the default error for NDS errors that did not map to an LDAP error code. To conform to the new LDAP drafts, NDS 8.5 uses 80 (0x50) for such errors. 2 LDAP_PROTOCOL_ERROR Indicates that the server has received an invalid or malformed request from the client. 3 LDAP_TIMELIMIT_EXCEEDED Indicates that the operation's time limit specified by either the client or the server has been exceeded. On search operations, incomplete results are returned. 4 LDAP_SIZELIMIT_EXCEEDED Indicates that in a search operation, the size limit specified by the client or the server has been exceeded. Incomplete results are returned. 5 LDAP_COMPARE_FALSE Does not indicate an error condition. Indicates that the results of a compare operation are false. 6 LDAP_COMPARE_TRUE Does not indicate an error condition. Indicates that the results of a compare operation are true. 7 LDAP_AUTH_METHOD_NOT_SUPPORTED Indicates that during a bind operation the client requested an authentication method not supported by the LDAP server. 8 LDAP_STRONG_AUTH_REQUIRED Indicates one of the following: In bind requests, the LDAP server accepts only strong authentication. In a client request, the client requested an operation such as delete that requires strong authentication. In an unsolicited n
