From time to time server manager on both servers stops working and reports error collecting data from both servers. Also, I can't access Hyper-V and cluster MMC. Every time, there is a problem with WMI service (Windows Management Instrumentation). In my oppinion it stops working or get corrupted. The failed to only solution is to restart WMI service (it also restarts Hyper-V and some other services), but it hangs on on 'restarting'. Killing WMI PID doesn't work. After a few hours it stops and starts again, and everything works. Once I need to restarts a whole server (both nodes) because WMI didn't restart automaticaly. I don't know what is casuing this and how to resolve. Today I restarted WMI again failed to cogetclassobject after 2 months, and it restarted after a 2 hours. I'm sure that in 2 month the problem will come back again. Any ideas how to solve this ? On the View menu, click Show Analytic and Debug Logs. Locate the Trace channel log for WMI under Applications and Service Logs | Microsoft | Windows | WMI Activity.Right-click the Trace log and select Log Properties. Click the Enable Logging check box to start the WMI event tracing. For more information about channels, see Event Logs and Channels in Windows Event Log.WMI events appear in the event window for WMI-Activity. Double-click an event in the list to see the detailed information. You can view an event in XML View or in Friendly View format. To use powershell cmdlet to stop and start the service, and check if there is any error: Stop-Service winmgmt -Force Start-Service winmgmt If the methods above can’t work, Please also post the error or failure information to help us to troubleshoot.
