I have a 3-node network, External, Perimiter (DMz), and Internal. This is confugured utilizing Microsoft Threat Management Gateway 2010. I have a split DNS infrastructure. My internal network has http://forums.msexchange.org/Sending_Mail_External_Fails_-_Message_in_Queue/m_1800601499/tm.htm Active Directory and the DNS forwards requests to my Perimiter DNS server. My permiter DNS server forwards requests to Google PUblic DNS 8.8.8.8. This seemed to work a bit better than using my ISP DNS. I can send email internally between users with no issues. I have created a Send connector as described in a MS article for all other domains. I'm seeing in my TMG firewall logs that the SMTP from the exchange server is not getting denied and it is resolving to gmail. Era of Holographic Computing » Edge Transport: Incoming mails stuck in the queue with error 4.4.1 Today while configuring an Edge transport, I http://msexchangeguru.com/2015/01/20/mails-queued-error-4-4-1/ got the below error. I am sharing the resolution to help others. Issue: Incoming mails are queuing up Delivery to Mailbox queue to deliver in the database in a IPLess DAG. Get-queue is showing the following error 4.4.1 Error encountered while communicating with primary target IP address: "Failed to connect. Winsock error code: 10060, Win32 error code: 10060." Attempted failover to alternate failed to host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate hosts, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts. The last endpoint attempted was 2002:b00:5::b00:5:475};{FQDN=dagdb01};{IP=2002:b00:5::b00:5}] Point to be noted 2002:b00:5::b00:5:475};{FQDN=dagdb01};{IP=2002:b00:5::b00:5}] This is IP version 6 addresses which are not accepting the mails. Resolution: -Opened the DNS and verified the IP belongs to Exchange server W12R2E1. -Removed IPv6 DNS entries failed to connect -Opened the Registry and disabled IPv6 by all FFFFFFFF. Restarted the exchange server. -Now mail started delivering. Prabhat Nigam Microsoft MVP | Exchange Server Team@MSExchangeGuru Posted January 20th, 2015 under Edge Transport, Exchange 2013, MailFlow.
