Solved Failed to Create the Crystal Query Engine (dlls not registered) Posted on 2009-02-19 Crystal Reports 1 Verified Solution 2 Comments 3,659 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-06 A new Crystal 10 install gives "Failed to Create the Crystal Query Engine" on launch. Another question offered this as a solution: This is caused by a dll that isn't registered correctly. Instructions for registering the dll can be found here: http://support.businessobjects.com/library/kbase/articles/c2014681.asp ...which I cannot get to load (asks for a security certificate, but none on list to choose) Can someone offer the solution in some other format? 0 Question by:vizsla Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution byvizsla I was able to fix it without the solution link I mentioned. Now, suddenly i can't open any of my reports in design mode, VS comes up with an error message: "Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer: Failed to open failed to create document." and "Microsoft Visual Studio: Failed to create the Crystal Query Engine." Need help to resolve this urgently, deliverable time is soon . . . Thanks. Wednesday, June 07, 2006 9:31 AM Answers 5 Sign in to vote Ok, found out what is causing this.
