Error_path_not_found
are using Advanced installer 7.5.2 to build our installer and are getting a strange problem on a particular customer's computer where the installation fails to create a temporary directory. Their PC is Windows 7, and we suspect is using French regional settings. The relevant lines from the log file (full file attached) areCode: Select allMSI (c) (70:50) [11:13:48:999]: Invoking remote custom action. DLL: C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\MSIFC7B.tmp, Entrypoint: PromptToRemoveOldVersions

CustomAction RemoveOldVersions returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)The installer is being run as Administrator on the PC. The error code of 3 presumably corresponds to the WIN32 error ERROR_PATH_NOT_FOUND when the installer tries to create a folder under C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Any help or direction on this would be appreciated. We are stumped as to what we should look into next. Thanks,Brett Attachments idiscover.5.2.2.173.log (255.91 KiB) Downloaded 37 times Top mihai.petcu Posts: 3768 Joined: Thu Aug 05, 2010 8:01 am Re: Failed to create temp directory Quote Postby mihai.petcu » Thu Sep 20, 2012 8:22 am Hi Brett and welcome to Advanced Installer forums,This could happen on Windows 7 because your custom action doesn't have enough rights to execute properly. You can try to set "RemoveOldVersions" with the "Deferred, with no impersonation" execution option and see the outcome. All the best,Mihai Mihai Petcu - Advanced Installer TeamFollow us: Twitter - Facebook - YouTube Top bcarswell Posts: 6 Joined: Thu Sep 20, 2012 4:40 am Re: Failed to create temp directory Quote Postby bcarswell » Mon Sep 24, 2012 2:02 am Hi
