the Microsoft Knowledge Base, Bing, Yahoo, and Google. The error message I am getting appears to be discussed nowhere on the internet. The issue: When trying to create a new folder pair in SyncToy I get the following error message: "Failed to create folder pair. Failed to create the provider." This happens when attempting to failed to create presets folder create a new folder pair, regardless of drive. I have attempted to create new folders pairs that go C: > C:, C: > G:, C: > H:, and G: > H:. I get the same error regardless of drive(s) used. C: is an internal hard disk, G: is an external Seagate 1 TB USB 2.0 hard disk, and H: is a SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 4GB flash drive. There are no network drives hooked to this machine, except when I Telnet into school, and I have never tried to Sync over a network. All Sync attempts have been with local drives. SyncToy has worked fine on this system for months, I have used it regularly to backup and synchronize data from flash drive to internal hard disk and external backup hard disk. When this error started to occur, it did not prevent me from running Syncjobs I had already created; it only prevented me from creating any new folder pairs for syncing. This error started on SyncToy

So far, I have uploaded everything but the sites folder. When I do try to upload it, it gets up to about 70-75 percent and then prompts this error message: General failure (server should provide error failed to create description). Error code: 4 Error message from server: Failure Request code: 6 All of the folders have 755 rights and I am logged in as the Root user in Putty. This is especially frustrating because the file uploads for about 2 hours before it give me the error message. I get to the screen which tells me to select the directory I wish to install in, I then select next and it tells me the folder does not exist and asks me if I wish to create a new one; if I select to create the folder it gives me the error: Failed to create folder (/usr/local/MATLAB/R2013b/) I then tried to create the folder manually; using sudo mkdir /usr/local/MATLAB/ and then sudo mkdir /usr/local/MATLAB/R2013b/, but the installation continues to fail with the same error. Has anyone encountered and overcome this error before?
