Solved McAfee ePO Server failing to automatically pull updates Posted on 2011-02-20 Anti-Virus Apps 1 Verified Solution 6 Comments 14,458 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-09 Hi everyone, We have a McAfee 4.5 server that we have rolled out in our company http://www.framepkg.com/epo and for some reason, the server cannot pull the updates automatically. I can manually pull them from the McAfee website (from the same server) and check them in manually and everything works fine. But it fails to download automatically. I doubt it matters, but the server is Windows 2008 Server R2. Initially we thought it was a proxy server issue, but since we can download it directly to the server using IE, I don't think https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26835147/McAfee-ePO-Server-failing-to-automatically-pull-updates.html that's the issue. The log file text can be seen below. Just had a similar problem this morning and this corrected it. more workaround than actual fix. So instead of updating in each of them using dat file individually I tried to create a shared folder in server, and created a UNC in site repository. I downloaded the file DAT Package For Use with Mcafee AutoUpdate Architect & ePO 3.0 from http://www.mcafee.com/apps/downloads/security-updates/security-updates.aspx. When I try to update it is giving an error Error occurred while downloading file SiteStat.xml. So how fix it? mcafee update share|improve this question asked Jan 14 '11 at 13:16 Vicky 13118 50 PCs is beginning to be a reasonable sized network in terms of managing A/V updates. You might want to consider putting in an EPO server which will centrally manage McAfee. I'm not sure of the licensing costs, however. –Snellgrove May 3 '13 at 9:10 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote From McAfee's website: Solution 2 - Troubleshooting issues with a UNC repository Click Start, Run, type the full UNC path in the format below and press ENTER. \servername\sharedfolder\ 2.
