Whenever I click on a failed to retrieve share list from server invalid argument Windows network domain using Nautilus, the message: " Unable to mount location - Failed to retrieve share list from server " pops up. Where do I start troubleshooting this problem? I am getting desperate now :( I tried sudo mount -t cifs //SomeMachine/SomeShare some_directory and I get mount error(115): Operation now in progress Strangely enough, I got a popup stating: Could not display network:/// Error: Dbus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply ... samba share|improve this question edited Jun 6 '12 at 18:57 Jorge Castro 24.4k91386589 asked Nov 2 '11 at 14:27 jldupont 3212411 Is this a network you control? I reboot my router, access points and my clients then wait forever, and sometimes things get back to normal. Sometimes not. I have a network with many Linux machines, a few Win XP machines and a Mac. When things are bad it is impossible to find shared folders EVEN ON O

This tutorial and the one on setting up Windows shares in Linux Mint totally got my networking, umm, working. I was tearing my hair out slogging through dry, wordy Wikis and ridiculous"[SOLVED]" forum postings with enough lines of code to launch the space shuttle, and getting NOWHERE.
