These can be found from the "Logs" button in the SSH Tectia status window. Are you able to connect form host C to host B using the command line? (Sep 08 '11 at 21:41) hardys1 0 Hi hardys1, what if you open a command prompt on the windows machine (cmd.exe) and type: > ssh-broker-gui that should bring up the SSH Tectia Status Window (the connection broker in fact). After that typing: > ssh-client-g3 should start a SSH Tectia Terminal (GUI) whose connection statuses can be monitored in previously started Status Window. If there is any problem in starting any of those 2 applications then no connections can be made. Putting here the outcome of those commands and outcome of the command suggested by Roman: sshg3 -v user@hostb Would help us to understand what is going on. ok, i get this one: "failed to open a secure terminal session: protocol error" . SO I can't connect... trustworthiness of the client process cannot be verified. refusing to serve unknown client I think It might have something to do with the fact that I just formated my computer and I installed back some files that i had in backups before. Since I had https://answers.ssh.com/questions/1251/ssh-tectia-error-failed-to-open-a-secure-terminal-session an older version of SSH before, maybe some files of it where installed somewhere and the paths get mixed up or something. But I really don't know what I'm talking about, I don't even know what a path is really.. (well kind of , but don't know how to check this or change it). Maybe it does'nt have anything to do with this https://answers.ssh.com/questions/838/failed-to-open-a-secure-file-transfer-session at all either. Can you help me? Thank you very much! S. Have you checked the authentication methods? It could be that you were using public key authentication, and if you have deleted this key during the format, you will need to generate a new one and supply it to the SSH Server's machine (they will have to do it for you). What client were you using previously? 6.2.0.612 is not a valid release, so I assume you are using 6.1.9? Thanks, James (Apr 08 '11 at 14:51) jamesw ♦♦ One Answer: oldestnewestmost voted 0 The 6.2.0 version of Tectia Client has not been released yet. This particular build of client (6.2.0.612) is from a development branch from one year ago and would not recommend using it. Licensed customers can download the latest released version of Tectia products from the customer download center. And anyone can download the latest released version for evaluation purposes from tectia.com

I was initially able to connect to SSH client from remote computer and perform file transfer function without any problem. Now suddenly when i try to connect to my server remotely thru SSH client,I get the following errors. Failed to open a secure file transfer session. File transfer could not be started or it exited unexpectedly.Exit value 0 was returned. Most likely the sftp-server is not in the path of the user on the server-side. I am able to open a new terminal window but the file transfer does not work. Can anyone help me with this?
