solution posted in the App-V Technet forums – and still get the error message? The below process monitor capture will tell you why- it actually looks in both the current working directory and where it is located. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-hardware/failed-to-open-graphics-server-graph-control/bdfeaff1-895a-4a48-8416-9508d88f58d3 Make a copy to the current working directory – and it will probably be ok! V6.10 versions of the Graphs32.ocx, GSW32.exe, etc. installed in another folder (where someone else's program/deployment was). Once deleted from the hard drive, http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/VB/microsoft.public.vb.controls/2006-04/msg00114.html my application worked fine. This is despite Graphs32.ocx V6.15 in System32 being registered, and the full set of V6.15 Graphics Server files in System32. So I https://www.citect.schneider-electric.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-16915.html solved the problem, but I am still not understanding why my program would be accessing the V6.1 files located somewhere on the hard drive, say location X. failed to Where location X is not even listed when looking at the 'Path' variable, let alone appearing in Path before System32. As well, I thought that if the System32\Graphs32.ocx V6.15 is the one last registered, then this would be what would be accessed via the GUID lookup in the registry. Perhaps I don't understand the failed to open search order on Windows. Any insight is welcome. Cheers, David "David Carr"
full server license and five display client licenses. The display clients are accessed via Windows Terminal Services. The client uses Terminal Services to access the display clients from anywhere in the facility. I have code in the Citect system that executes a third party program to interface directly to some connected IO devices. Recently my client changed the Windows Terminal Services server and upgraded to a larger, faster PC. He is now getting errors when he attempts to run the third party program. Prior to upgrading the TS server everything was working correctly. My client says that they loaded the OS and Terminal Services setups exactly the same on the new PC as they were on the old PC. So I am trying to figure out what may be causing the error. When he attempts to run the third party application he gets three errors. Each is its own popup box. I have listed the box title and the included error message below. 1-Box title:* Graph Control;***** Error message:* Failed to open Graphics Server 2-Box title:* Graphics Server;*** Error message:* The server is already running 3-Box title:* the third party application name;** Error Message:* Run-time error 380: Invalid property value Has anyone experienced anything like this with a Terminal Services setup?? Thanks.
