Failed To Open A Fastload Rowset
exception: CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.InternalException: Failed to open a rowset. crystal-reports share|improve this question asked Dec 30 '08 at 16:19 Joshua Drake 1,90721531 add a comment| 12 Answers 12 active oldest votes up vote 8 down vote accepted This is a generic error in Crystal Reports whenever the report query fails. There can be a number of causes. If your report was targeted to a specific database and then the database was changed without updated the failed to open a fastload rowset ssis report, this can cause it. It can also be caused by something in the query itself failing, such as if the report is based on a stored procedure that doesn't exist on the database against which the report is running. Try verifying the database for the report. share|improve this answer answered Dec 30 '08 at 17:02 Ryan Morlok 622510 1 Although this was not the resolution to my specific issue, I feel it is the most relevant to my question. –Joshua Drake Apr 16 '10 at 19:42 @Joshua Drake: what was the (re)solution of your problem?!? I'm facing the same error message and can't seem to find a solution for it... –marc_s Jul 26 '10 at 13:41 Unfortunately the report was rewritten, and in that process began to work again. I would recommend, in addition to all the answers on this page, that you make sure you have the latest service packs installed for Crystal. –Joshua Drake Aug 9 '10 at 13:15 add a comment| up vote 1 down vote As said this is a generic error, and like all such errors it's a very frustrating one. The problem is that VS 2003 has no preview option for crystal reports so it's hard to track down the source of the problem. So best

iMIS email address with VanGo/eSeries web login » October 31, 2005 "Failed to Open a Rowset" error when running Crystal Reports in iMIS This error occurs http://vandamme.typepad.com/kb/2005/10/failed_to_open_.html when the SQL statement used to generate the data for the report is invalid. It is likely that a table is being referenced that does not exist or does not have adequate http://forums.asp.net/t/1853031.aspx?Crystal+report+10+Error+Failed+to+open+a+rowset permissions in the report. The following are some examples where this error might occur: - A custom table or view was added to the report without adequate permissions. - An Ad Hoc failed to query was run that references a table not included in the report. - Invalid Sort Options were added to the iMIS Report Spec. - A table was added to the report, but no fields from that table occur in the report. - Aliased fields in the view have spaces in the alias names. Guidelines to avoid this error: 1. Make sure that the iMIS user failed to open group has SELECT permissions for all tables and views referenced in the report. 2. Make sure that at least one field exists on the report from each table in the report. You may wish to suppress (hide) the field on the report, but it must exist. 3. Always run Verify Database from the Database menu in Crystal before saving the report. If there are subreports included, you will also want to perform this step on each subreport. 4. Make sure there are no invalid fields added to the iMIS Report Spec under Options > Sort Fields or Options > Additional Fields. 5. If you are creating an Ad Hoc query that references a table that is not included in the report, you will need to either add the table to the report or create an Ad Hoc Calculation formula that includes a subquery which filters the data. For example if you wanted to print labels for a specific dues product code 'ABC', you would create the following Ad Hoc calculation: Name.ID in (select(ID)from Subscriptions where PRODUCT_CODE='ABC') **Note: There are no spaces before or after "(ID)" in the above statement. If you include these
