Using the answer below of deleting the Intellisense file (.ncb) worked for me. –Richard Chambers Jul 9 '15 at 23:48 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted Delete the Class Wizard file (.clw) and the Intellisense file (.ncb) file from your solution directory and try again. share|improve this answer edited Jan 22 at 16:38 answered Nov 11 '10 at 23:42 Martin Broadhurst 5,47911425 I had the same problem with Visual Studio 2005 when creating an C++ ATL control. I deleted the Intellisense file (.ncb) from the solution directory and after reopening the project the Add Method wizard in the Class View started working. Thanks loads! –Richard Chambers Jul 9 '15 at 23:46 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote You need to have only one variable for your data and one for your control for your grouped Controls: int m_RBData; CRadio m_RBControl; Then you need to group all ID Controls within the linked function like this: ON_CONTROL_RANGE(BN_CLICKED,IDC_RB,IDC_RB3,OnClickRb) You also need to add reference to String Table: 1R__C 0,1,2 in your first ID (IDC_RB). Now your data variable, takes the values 0,1 or 2 whenever you click the first, the second or the third radio button respectively. share|improve this answer answered Nov 12 '10 at 11:00 Sunscreen 1,17762033

no longer allows me to add a Variable or Function to a class in the project. I attempt to add a new (public) Variable called Temp123, and get this error... Failed to return new Code Element. Possibley syntax error. New Element Name. Temp123 I recently changed the name of the cpp file (using Solution http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/failed-to-return-new-code-element.2619070/ Explorer) of this class. Since that change, the error always occurs. I attempted to change the cpp name back to its original name, but still get the error. Can anyone help me out.
