I created new use called Temproary with full admin rights. Logged on and then off as this new user. Closed down machine and restarted. Logged on as Admin. Attempted to copy settings from "Owner" to newley-created username. Make it most of the way through and then get the "Failed to set Security on the Destination Profile.error - Access is denied" message. I feel like I've tried everything but am hoping one of you has a suggestion. Please feel free to ask a question for clearification. Thanks. Upon checking the rights on the folder (which is the username folder under Documents and Settings), they appear to be correct.Or at least the rights are identical to the rights on other machines where the "Copy To" function ran without error. This problem has been talked about several times on this board, but none of the answers seems to answer my issues.I'd appreciate any help on this one. (You know how these things go, the three that did not work were the three most important users.) I've been logging onto the local machine, instead of the domain. Now that I need to log into the domain, I'm trying to copy my profile to the domain user. For both the local machine and domain my username is the same, as is the password. The local machine user has local administrator rights. From System -> Advanced -> Users, I select my "local\username" profile, click "Copy To", and then browse to the c:\documents and settings\username.DOMAIN directory. It gives me the deleting warning, I select Ok, and then I get the error: "Failed to set security on the destination profile. Error - Access is denied." I've messed with it for a few hours, but nothing seems to work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. In addition, you cannot copy the account you are currently logged in on...you must log into another account. If you create a new account, you must logon once before you copy another account over the top of it. Windows creates the user profile at logon, not at account creation, and it will not use the copy you created before that first logon...it will create a user.COMPUTERNAME folder in
