Failed To Set The Policy Mode The System Cannot Find The File Specified
Sign in to vote I'm trying to enforce a secure screen saver via GPOs failed to set display mode on Windows 7 and XP computers. I created the policy and linked it to the OU. It works on the 7 failed to set display mode (-2) computers, but not on XP. When I run gpupdate /force, I get this error: Refreshing Policy... Failed to refresh User Policy. Error - The system cannot find the file specified. Exiting... Computer Policy Refresh

But these are the errors I'm getting in the System event log after logging in: The assignment of application XStandard from policy install failed. The error was : %%1274 The removal of the assignment of application XStandard from policy install failed. The error was : %%2 Failed to apply changes to software installation settings. The installation of software deployed through Group Policy for this user has been delayed until the next logon because the changes must be applied before the user logon.
