N Nikolai Domaev last edited by fog mounting file system failed permission denied Hi guys and girls, lady’s and gentleman, I have successfully installed Ubuntu desktop 10.04 LTS in a VMware ESX virtual machine. And then i installed latest FOG server on it. A change fog image location view days ago. Also tested it and it works. Pulled and Deployed an image. Without sysprep. Just pull and push for the sake of testing. Which is good. I have also another Windows File-Server. And a shared FogImages folder there that i mounted in Ubuntu so that i could use it for images i pull. But it gives me the following error since i

(with my collegue) have setup to automatically mount the share on Ubuntu. Error “Fatal Error: Failed to mount NFS Volume.” My collegue is a littlebit more expirienced Linux than i am. So for him it was question of minutes which for me could be hours. So he fast fixed it here. What did we do: we added fogpw text tile to the /etc/ folder. And then added this line to fstab in /etc/: //FileserverIPADRESS/FogImages /media/fogimages cifs credentials=/etc/fogpw, defaults 0 0 and then renamed the images folder on the root to images.old and made a symbolic link to the /media/fogimages. I also have copyed the dev folder and everything from images.old to images new. Which is on the share now. So i can go to images folder (symbolic link) on the root of Ubuntu server and i land in the Windows share. The share has the following perpisiions: Share rights - everyone full controll Security rights - Modify (for the user in fogpw file in the /etc/) When fog is pxe booting this is what it prints: Mounting File System … mount: FileserverIP:/images/dev failed, reason given by server: Permission denied. moun

Join Now Hi, I'll start by saying I don't know a lot about linux. I realized after getting my fog server running it had hardly any storage, So I added a second HDD got it all mounted and fog recognizing it. But when I try and upload an image I get the error in the attached picture. Google has failed me failed to mount on this problem, so any idea's or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. In the folder on your server, check for the .mntcheck files. If these are not there then perform the following commands [Linux Systems Only] touch /images/dev/.mntcheck touch /images/.mntcheck If still receiving the same error message after perfroming the above commands, you may need to edit /etc/exports to include your new mount point, i.e. /data/images and /data/images/dev with corresponding permissions. See following example of /etc/exports: /images *(ro,sync,no_wdelay,insecure_locks,no_root_squash,insecure) /images/dev *(rw,sync,no_wdelay,no_root_squash,insecure) /data/images *(ro,sync,no_wdelay,insecure_locks,no_root_squash,insecure) /data/images/dev *(rw,sync,no_wdelay,no_root_squash,insecure) Edited Mar 19, 2014 at 7:24 UTC 1 Thai Pepper OP BMoore Mar 19, 2014 at 7:15 UTC do you have the

Transferring the files and the database went smoothly, and all of the settings carried over. In the FOG Settings page, I took care to update the IP address of the FOG server from the old address to the new one wherever I came across it. Then, I went to test FOG, doing an inventory on a machine, which went smoothly. But, when I went to upload an image from that machine, I am getting an error: Preparing to send image file to server. Mounting File System... mount: mount to NFS server 'x.x.x.x' failed: System Error: No route to host. Done Checking Mounted File System..... ########################## # # # An error has been detected! # # # ########################## The IP address of the NFS server it is trying to mount is the IP of the old desktop, so I know I need to change this to the new IP. But, in the FOG settings section, there are only 2 options for NFS, and neither is the IP address. So, I went poking around the config files, and there is no mention of the old IP address anywhere there, either. But, I went ahead and backed up the new database and greped for the old IP, and there it is, sitting in the database: INSERT INTO `nfsGroupMembers` VALUES (1,'DefaultMember','Auto generated fog nfs group member','1',1,'/images/','1','x.x.x.x',10,'theUser','thePassword',''); So, for now, I guess I'll see if I can change this manually in the database, but am I overlooking a simpler way to do it? --Jeremy Discussion jkoppel - 2009-07-07 No dice. Ran query: UPDATE nfsGroupMembers SET ngmHostname="newIP" WHERE ngmHostname="oldIP"; Successfully updated, and I have verified the change. Furthermore, there does not seem to be any other occurrences of the old IP in the database, but I am still getting the same error on the client. I can't even begin to imagine where it's still pulling that old IP from. Going to need some help on this one. --Jeremy If you would like to refer to
