starting at boot Krijn TanisSeptember 21st, 2012, 07:36 AMTill a couple of months ago I was using 10.04 LTS for all my servers. These servers were used for RADIUS, so were mainly installed with LAMP, Freeradius and Freeradius-MySQL. This was service radiusd start failed centos working fine for me. Now I switched to 12.04 LTS and installed the server on the

same way I always do: install Ubuntu with LAMP enabled on setup, install Freeradius and Freeradius-MySQL using apt-get. By default MySQL server and Freeradius freeradius errors parsing authorize section are started at boot, so I rebooted the server to test this. But when I checked MySQL server was running fine, but Freeradius was not running. When I start Freeradius after boot is completed (using 'service freeradius start'), it is http://superuser.com/questions/719269/freeradius-fails-to-start working fine. I did some research and it seems that MySQL is not started yet when Freeradius is starting. I checked the rc.d scripts and Freeradius is starting at position 99 and MySQL is not listed. It looks like MySQL is booting at some other way. My question: how can I fix this? I just want MySQL to start first at boot and after that Freeradius. ♦ ♦ | Report Content as Inappropriate ♦ ♦ mysql errors when running freeradius I have been following the mysql guide on the freeradius wiki for handling of users. I've had a few problems along the way and i can get radius accepting test packs not using mysql. I am using openSUSE 11.1. When i now try to launch radius it is coming up with mysql errors, and i can't figure out why and what it's trying to do. One thing to note is that i install mysql after i installed freeradius, and I'm unsure whether this could be a problem too. I have also read that you need the mysql-devel files, which from looking in yast i do not have, and can not locate. The debug code can be found below. -----> linux-6pfg:/etc/raddb # radiusd -X FreeRADIUS Version 2.1.1, for host i686-suse-linux-gnu, built on Dec 3 2008 at 10:47:13 Copyright (C) 1999-2008 The FreeRADIUS server project and contributors.
