Miciovici 2011-05-21 14:29:26 EDT Description of problem: Odd problem, odd symptoms - after some random duration of time (usually after the system is idling several hours) different stuff starts to behave odd. Launching gnome-terminal from the launcher panel becomes impossible - actually it looks like it's trying to start it but after some seconds it just disappears from the taskbar and never actually pops up a terminal window. Second symptom: none of the VPN connections configured in NetworkManager will initiate. Third symptom: IBM Lotus Mobility Client will present some very ugly fonts (like it switches from gtk to qt?) with some old KDE fonts?! Sorry if this doesn't make any sense but

If so, logout and relogin to reinitiate your /tmp . That fstab line mounts a tmpfs at /dev/shm, not at /tmp. I have this line https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=98489 for mounting /tmp in ram:none /tmp tmpfs nodev,nosuid,noexec,nodiratime,noatime,size=768M,mode=1777 0 0 Offline #3 2010-06-05 12:23:49 Hund Member From: Sweden Registered: 2010-03-22 Posts: 395 Website Re: Using tmpfs for /tmp giving me problems GConf errors [Solved] Thanks.
