Then, would you please tell us what the type your project was, MFC or native C++. You can try to change Right click your project->Properties->Configuration Properties->C/C++->Code Generation->Runtime Library as /MDd I hope my suggestion can help you to solve this problem. I use Visual studio 2008. One failed to load thing that may cause this problem is my code is saved on the server disk, not on local hard disk. mt.exe : general error c101008d: Failed to write the updated manifest to the resource of file "..\Release\PGTS_version17C.exe". I recommend disabling anti-virus from reading your DEBUG and RELEASE output folders. share|improve this answer answered Dec 14 '10 at 17:26 Zamboni 5,35152946 For the sake of completeness symantec.com/business/support/… –mlt Feb 5 '14 at 21:10 1 You are a lifesaver! +1, that helped me out a lot. –DJMcMayhem Aug 27 '15 at 17:43 Even WindowsDefender seems t

That's uninformative. Always post the errors you get, verbatim. You're definitely on the right track. Create an empty project, add a new .cpp file, put in your code, build, run. To keep the window open after the program has completed, set a debug breakpoint on the last statement or add something that requires user input (such as cin.get ()) at the end of the program (just before the last return statement). __________________ Contributor's Corner: Politically Incorrect DaWei on Pointers DaWei View Public Profile Visit DaWei's homepage!
